The material is made out of a durable plastic that reminds me of cutting boards. It's flexible and will last a while. The angles are solid and you can use this to guide you very well. My only (minor) complaint is that when they were stamping this stencil, their blade was rough, such that the cut edges are slightly sharp (but not enough to cut anyone). We've been using this hairline stencil for at-home touch-ups, and it works well to help get crisp, professional-looking edges without having to head to a salon every time. The guide has precise right angles and extended straight sides to align the clippers accurately for smooth fades and clean outlines. The additional markings helps to keep things even/balanced on both sides. It's made from reasonably thick material that bends just enough to follow the contours of your head but snaps back without creasing or wearing out. It's held up just fine through multiple sessions and cleanings. It's probably a little over prices for just a piece of plastic with some markings on it, but it does what I needed so I'm OK with the price for the value I'm getting out of it.
