These are the most recommended radio/transceivers for SHTF (2 pack) I think it’s important to know what all of the settings are and what they mean. There are many videos to learn from quickly. The most important thing is how to talk radio to radio (requires two UV5Rs) after learning that, you can learn how to scan frequencies and get longer range transmissions, but talking radio to radio makes all the difference. Low priced HAM radio (license required) Easy to use unless you want to program with CHIRP (radio channel programming software). I use this for races (2-3 Frequency), marine emergency stand-by (1 Frequency), so programming not important. If you want to do lots of channels you might think again.
