The usual baefongs are small even with extended batterys and seem fragile unless you buy exos for them. This unit is BIG and is a handful. But is not unwieldy. I carry in a pouch with handmic setup.

Had the product less than a month, after testing the power/transmit output, it dropped to 5.7 watts while on power level high. As well as fully charging the battery. 17 hours, and on a different day 15 hours. Returning the product as 4.3-watt(s) drop is a major issue in just having the product under a month for a handheld. ... show more

If you're a relatively educated person but don't have a degree in FCC communications programming don't buy this. It's impossible to program. I spent hours and was able to find 1 channel - the national weather service. It's supposed to have an FM radio built in. The instructions say to operate FM radio "press the FM button". There is no FM button anywhere on the radio. ... show more

Really like this radio. Has great volume on receive. Very comfortable to holding your hand. Really enjoyable. Only drawback it has no audio output as far as speech out. Would be nice to have a volume for speech control in the menu. If there is, I can’t find it. Maybe someone could pass that information along to me. ... show more
