I originally bought for work so we could have plenty for staff. They were not completely compatible. We were only able to hear others speak , but when speaking into the wakie takie, no one could hear us, so it C was a 1 way radio for us and was useless as a 1-way radio, so make sure it is compatible if using with other brands. I ended up taking home for grandkids to play with outside. Not toddler proof and plays broke off easily, but older grandkids (8 yr old) had a blast. Very clear, loud, and steady communication. Good looking W/T for the price. I'm sure they'd charge faster via those contacts at the bottom instead of usb. One of them would turn off on its own and then would not turn on (after charging all of them). Turns out one of the plastic pillars that holds the units 2 halves together, also pins down a battery conductor. Well during molding or assembly plastic was wedged so that it wasn't making contact. Just scrapped it off and it works! Now to test them out camping where our phones don't work next week! :\ lol ... show more

These are moderately powered radios. Dont get me wrong, they work great at short distances but for longer distances, a more powerful 1+ watt FRS radio might work better. Also please do not believe in some of the answers most of the sellers have put up on the Q&A page about the power rating. Most are downright incorrect. These radios are NOT rated at 1W nor are they rated at .5W. They are rated at just under 0.1 Watts. I got these ratings and test results directly from the FCC website: FCC ID - 2ACVFK-10B. Google it up. Channels 1-7/15-22: 462.5625 - 462.7125 MHz rated at 0.0918 watts 462.55 - 462.725 MHz rated at 0.0986 watts Channels 8-14: 467.5625 - 467.7125 rated at 0.0527 watts We went to the Sierra at Tahoe ski resort in California with the kids and these radios work great around the base area. We then took Grandview Express and could hear the kids when they reached the top, from base. There was some static but it was audible. We had several folks around the mountain at different times and we could hear each other mostly if we were within a mile of each other. We were also able to test these radios on the Sugar and Spice run from the base lodge. But the signal did get lost when we went more than a mile apart. Note: Radios dont work well from the backside of the mountain for obvious reasons. Even 2 Watt radios seem to struggle. For the price its a great buy, but if you're looking for something more powerful I'd suggest the Topsung K-12 rated at 400 mW, or the even more powerful M-9 which is actually rated at 1.1 watt. ... show more
