This is the cutest retro game set ever. I love the design of it, including the font on the band that holds it closed. I would keep that if I were you, because that's half the charm. I love the drawers too. My only issue is that I wish it was a little stronger material. I had to get it replaced because my first order was shipped in a padded envelope and arrived crushed. Of course, I also wish it hadn't been shipped in an envelope. Those bubbles aren't magic. They're not going to protect unreinforced cardboard from the rigors of transit.

This ban.do Game Night! 2-in-1 Checkers and Backgammon Board, Checkers Board Game and Backgammon Set for Adults Includes Duo Board, 30 Checkers, 2 Dice, Pink/Red is cute. I love the colors. The idea of the game board being its own container is a neat idea. But while I applaud the idea of using recycled cardboard, this game needed to be made of something more durable, like plastic. When I received the game, one drawer was already damaged and there were lots of dings on the outside (which is the checkerboard side). I can't see this holding up long term, especially the drawers. They do not slide in and odd easily. Inside the drawers are the pieces and dice. One side is white, one dark green, both marked with concentric circles on one side. The wooden pieces are durable. This game is definitely aimed at adults. The band around it when it arrives even says 14+, which is ridiculous. The checkers are too small for really young kids, but you definitely don't have to be fourteen years old to enjoy this set. But I can't see too many adults being happy paying $30 for a set this disposable. You can buy very nice checkers and backgammon sets for that much. I like the idea and the design, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired, especially at this price point.

This is a great game, it’s perfect for on-the-go or for kids. It’s very well made and compact. It’s made out of heavy paper/cardboard material, has sliding drawers with the pieces packed inside, and opens up into a board game. Once finished, you simply put the pieces back in the drawers, push in & close up and you’re done. Very easy! Given the material, it’s very well made (for paper base) and is very study and durable. The colors are beautiful and each piece is nicely made. Definitely a great gift and totally recommend this product.

I believe this is marketed as being for adults. From the adult perspective I would have generously only given it 2 stars. I marked it for 4 stars if being purchased for a rather young child; a child you would like to give something colorful to but also with the purpose of introducing them to the games of backgammon and checkers. The board is made of cardboard, with bright Christmas colors that a younger person might like displayed in their room. That might help lead them from their electronic devices to actually playing some classic games with their friends. It folds nicely so as not to take up too much room and could fit into a bookcase. They have two drawers to hold the pieces, but the holes you use to pull out the drawers are so small I can't imagine this set being for an adult who can't even get a little pinky in there. I also can't imagine a seasoned player of checkers or backgammon ever being intrigued with this set. So, thumbs up for a very specific group of young children; thumbs down for adults.

Honest review here. PROS Size 10 inches x 10 inches x 1 inch, when folded it's 5x10x2. As pictured and great for travel. Lightweight and you can play either checkers or backgammon. CONS Not made of a super sturdy construction. It's almost like a thick cardboard. Either way though it works great and is perfect for travel. Great gift too.

I am just learning to play backgammon so this is a perfect starter set but it is made of cardboard and can be torn easily if not careful.

I love the fact that this has two games in one. I also love that this came with a storage sleeve. Overall the quality is nice. The one thing I would change if I could would be to make the board larger. It is a bit small, which makes it hard to move pieces. If it were just a little bit larger it would be perfect.
