I use this on the back of my toilet to hold room spray and a box that holds personal wipes. The box came from Amazon and works great. The tray stabilizes items on the top of the tank. Works well and looks great.

This would work fine to put under a candle or a couple of smaller items, but I don't think it's durable enough or big enough to use for a bathroom vanity tray. I don't think the wood will hold up to splashing water either. It's a lot smaller and thinner than I though it would be.
