I have a few of these from prior year(s) where they were mid-rise and I don't mind high-rise although I also don't find these high-rise shorts to rise much higher than the mid-rise. I love the pockets on both sides but the one on the waistband has gotten thicker since the prior versions so you can see it a bit on your tummy which I don't love. My weight has fluctuated a little the past few years but these shorts always fit great and look flattering. Personally I do not like the materials used for any of the colors or patterns except the light grey and charcoal grey. Those are like stretchy cotton blend which is comfortable for lounging and working out. The material for the other colors is a cold, shiny, bathing suit-like material that feels gross and shows spots once I start sweating. On one hand I think they're a little over priced at $20 but on the other they fit great, they've held up well (washing warm gentle and air drying flat on rack) and I did come back for more... It would be AWESOME if they could make other colors in the fabric/material used for the charcoal and light grey!! 2024 Edit I still love these charcoal classic and light grey classic shorts and I really really wish they made full length leggings in these fabrics. As I noted before, I personally cannot stand the bathing suit like material used for all the other colors, so I avoid those. Unfortunately their leggings are only available in those yucky fabrics. Just putting it out in the universe I would buy several pairs of the leggings every year if they were available in the charcoal classic and light grey classic fabric! I got the 5” shorts in a large. I wore them in a mud run and they were great! They didn’t ride up and I wasn’t adjusting them much during the run. The large does fit slightly big in certain areas but overall I’m glad I went with a large. For reference I am 5’7” and 155-160 lbs. These shorts are also great for the price. Most that I have seen around this price point do not have the phone/side pockets like these do. The thickness of the fabric is just where I would want it to be. I LOVE these bike shorts!! I have searched high and low for something comfy that fits well with good support, and these are those shorts y'all. The waist band never rolls down and the bottom never rolls up!!! Ladies, you know how much of a win that is!! It holds everything in but is still super comfy, I've been wearing them to workout, swim, sleep, camping, around the house, you name it. They are also super flattering, the black of course helps but everything looks smooth and sleek. The material is not too thick to where you're hot, but also thick enough that you're comfy and nothing is see through when you're bending over, etc.! The pockets are awesome, they hold my phone and keys and even then nothing falls down! I bought the 8" and 5" and love both, I wear 8" when I'm worried about chafing, and 5" all other times. I’m 5’3 and these fit perfectly length wise. They’re soft, moisture wicking, and have a little bit of compression. They don't ride up either. Great to run in!

This brand does have some shorts that are squat proof however these specific shorts are not. They do fit well but are this brands rougher material not the soft ones. I feel like every pair of shorts I get from this brand are different.

Comfortable. The material is a good thickness. Not see through even though it’s a light color (khaki). True to size. I’m about 5’2 and 130 lbs and got a size small with 5” inseam. Fits great.
