I don't run much anymore but I bought these shorts for walking and summer hiking because I wanted a super light pair of shorts that were lined, but that also had pockets for my phone. These fit the bill perfectly! I'd also wear them playing in my volleyball leagues. The waist band does sit high, similar to a yoga pant or legging, but it's very comfortable and stretchy. The pockets are plenty deep for your hands or to hold your phone without it falling out. It feels like you are wearing air! The shorts are so light and the inner mesh feels like I'm not wearing much of anything. Fits true to size. I'm 5'8 and about 155 and always wear a size 8 pant or a medium. Love them so much I ordered the black and then a second pair in gray!

(About me: 4'11", about 115 lbs, 26" waist, 39" hips. I ordered these with the intent to wear them as running shorts.) My measurements usually land somewhere between sizes Small and Medium, but I opted for a Small and have been very satisfied with the fit. I had a little bit of a hiccup with my first order. I ordered S, and the label on the outside of the package did say S, but the shorts inside were L. I had to return them, but did end up with the correct size afterward. The logo on the front and the 'BALEAF' on the back are reflective. The side pockets are a little more forward-facing than I was expecting--I thought they would be a little more towards the side seams, but it's not as though they're directly on top of the thigh or anything. Heavier objects may pull the pocket down past the hem, but that's unsurprising considering the stretch and flexibility of the fabric. I wouldn't use these pockets for actual exercise, as contents would be way too loose, and there's no zip closure. However, these pockets would be perfect for post-run errands or post-race festivities. The back zip pocket does fit an iPhone 11 with a case--it's kind of a tight stretch, but the pocket does zip closed. I tried running with my phone in this pocket though and there is a lot of bounce, which was both uncomfortable and a chafe risk. This pocket is better suited for ID or a credit card. The hidden pocket at the front of the waistband held my car key securely. As far as storage goes: I still take my flipbelt with me to carry my phone and keys on long runs. Even so, these are some of the comfiest shorts I own. The 5" length hides the worst of my cellulite and prevents my thighs from rubbing together. The liner stays put. The waistband is wide and sits right below my navel, no muffin top. I spilled water on myself and it was dried within minutes. Butt sweat doesn't show. I've washed them a couple times now without issue (cold gentle cycle, tumble dry low). These are my new favorite running shorts. I bought the grey (which I think is a little lighter than the product image) and purple colors.

I'm 5'6", 150 lbs with muscular legs and butt, and these shorts are the best I've found for running so far. I've had problems with other shorts riding up during runs but these don't do that. The good things: I have a small waist compared to my lower body, so the elastic cinching waist is perfect for me. The material is so soft and breathable, and the 5" length is perfect- flattering but still modest. The back pocket is perfect for keys, cards, or a really small phone. (Edit to add, my Samsung galaxy 5 fits because of the generous stretch! Even better!) The downsides: The elastic in the liner is just a little too tight. For longer distances (like 7+ miles) it gets uncomfortable. So I just cut out the front part of the elastic band - problem solved! The pockets don't zip up, and sometimes they stick out a bit when I'm wearing them. Overall, I'm satisfied with this brand. I know I'll never find the perfect shorts but I'm ordering another pair of these because they're pretty close.

Love these shorts. Perfect dupe for a well known brand. Fabric is super light, waistband very comfy. I was able to size down. The length prevents ride up on the inner thighs. I own multiple items from the brand and love them all. One pair (navy) arrived mislabeled. They were truly an XL but that size was removed and replaced with an L. See photo. Was able to exchange successfully.

Great shorts. I bought one pair just to try and came back for 3 more. I like running shorts but they are usually too short, to long, have the inside piece that rolls in my thigh and are ultimately unwearable. These fit great. I’m a size S but these are ample smalls. Breezy and flattering. The inside is more panty style rather than bike short style. I love these. And compares to the main athletic brands these are half the price

I live in Florida and live in shorts and flip flops every day. I love the versatility of wearing gym shorts with built in underwear, too. After Brooks stopped making my all time favorite 5” length running shorts with pockets (they made for the past decade), I tried several knock offs and until I tried these, never found anything as close in comfort or style until these. The waist is much higher than I wanted originally, but after wearing, love them! I bought multiple pairs in 3 colors! Truly love the pockets. The side pockets are roomy (though bulky objects, like a phone or AirPods weigh my pocket down and hang below shorts). The “secret” pocket in waist band perfect for house key and lip balm, and zipper pocket in back holds my small wallet perfectly. They’re a bit loose fitting but that adds to comfort and I prefer comfort to stylish these days.
