I had ordered a couple of different 12" shorts from Bayleaf and while they were very comfortable I noticed they pilled quickly...and I mean quickly making them seem old way before their time. So I decided to try these as they came in the color Navy and made from a different blend of fabric. The 12" length is very important to me as they are not too short and not to long. I got my first order and immediately tried them on. Wow, they look nice and felt great. But of course I had to wait to see if the pilling would start within two times of wearing them. It didn't. These shorts are well made, have great pockets, look extremely nice on, wash well and are very comfy. I now own 5 pairs. Thank you Bayleaf! I bought several pair of these for playing pickleball. they are nice and long, the fabric is stretchy and comfy but not flimsy. Working from home I find myself wearing these every day this summer. PROS: Pleasantly surprised at the quality of these shorts! They are not the usual knit-type legging material that's too thin and stretchy, but rather a dry-fit type fabric that's super lightweight, completely NOT see-thru, but still has some stretch to them. Just pull 'em up and forget 'em- no rolling down, no wedgies. I bought both the Navy and the charcoal. This 12" mid-knee length is the most flattering for me. CONS: I first bought one pair in my usual size, 2X, which fit just right, but after washing in cold water/tumble dry low, they did shrink enough to be visibly tight on my thighs. So I next tried a 3x which was loose all over. After laundering the 3x the same way, the thighs fit just right but the crotch area was baggy looking, which I'll just hide under tunics. So I went ahead and ordered 2 more Navy plus 2 Charcoal in 2x but I just hung then to dry. Note: Since these don't fit like leggings, they are not form fitting at the knee, there is a gap. I have 4 pairs of another style of Baleaf shorts that are very similar to these, just a couple inches shorter & with bigger pockets. I ordered these on Prime Day because I wanted some that fully covered the backs of my lower thighs, and the length is absolutely perfect. I am 5’5”, 174lbs, and ordered the XL (same size I have in the other style too). These come down right to the middle of my knees. The fabric is super smooth & feels really good. Better than the fabric of the other style, although that one isn’t bad. These feel almost like a high quality swimsuit, kinda. They dry pretty quickly. I’ve definitely had shorts made of thinner material, but if it was it wouldn’t drape or look well at all. The pockets are almost exactly the size of my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Smaller than the other style but still much more functional than most women’s bottoms. They are straight vertical & a little too narrow, so it makes putting your hands in them awkward. Very minor complaint, I wouldn’t dock stars for it. I just wish they came in more color options!!!! The other style comes in several shades of blues, greens, etc. I ordered the gray, which in person is a hair darker than my phone screen. I would love to get these in an olive green, a nice medium grass green, teal, slate blue, purple, etc. ... show more

I am overweight and work out daily at the gym. I don't like tight fitting workout clothes that show every fat bump I have. These shorts are loose, have pockets that fit my phone and cars keys. I have several pair and would recommend them. They are comfortable and modest.

I have purchased several of these BALEAF shorts in multiple colors, and I love each and every one of them. With their great flexibility, shape, large pockets, and overall style and comfort, I can wear them for golfing, working out at the gym, and really for everyday wear. They wash well and have never lost their shape or texture (I do not put them in the dryer.) I prefer the longer shorts that come to the top of my knee but the shorter ones are great too.
