When I saw the red and black umbrella I got sooooo excited! This is such a beautiful umbrella, clearly very well made, and has great features! I love the colors, it easily fits 2+ people under it and has an easy open button with a very easy pull close. I also love that it is designed to allow the wind to run through the top without just sweeping the umbrella away! 39 inches according to an iPhone app but I haven’t really used it yet because I have the shorter version the retractable one in my backpack. I like the fact that this is rated for Highwinds situations I keep it on standby just in case. I originally got it to work my baby in the stroller because it’s big enough to hold up and cover myself and the baby but I never used it as of yet.-jg ... show more

Inital impression after opening the delivery package was that the umbrella was of good build quality. I liked the thumb button used to open the umbrella and generally felt sturdy. The included cover/sheath seemed somewhat less than expected compared to other similar umbrellas that I currently own. The first day I carried the umbrella into work, I slung it over my shoulder using the included cover. Unlike other umbrellas I own, this one I noticed was letting the umbrella slide through the top (smaller) opening until the umbrella was half way through the cover. To help explain, think about sliding your umbrella into the cover, and closing the velcro strap, then continue pushing gently into the cover and the umbrella will slide out the other end. Not a very effective cover to use when carrying the umbrella. Later that day it was raining as expected. When I walked outside and pushed the button to open the umbrella, the umbrella opened, and the top cone flew off the umbrella (see images). I have only used it one time so far, and first impression wasn't good. Not to mention I now have a brand new umbrella that looks like it has already been through the trenches and ready to fall apart. Wind/Rain: Good Durability: Falls apart, carry strap useless Giftable: I wouldn't gift something that I know would give issues to the receiver, so no. Purchase again: Not Likely Rated two stars only because it seemed wind/rain sturdy and didn't feel right rating one star. But it not come apart cosmetically, I would have rated it higher. ... show more

This umbrella got really good reviews so grabbed one for my son (state level high school golfer). His school colors are black and red so thought it would be perfect for his rainy spring golf season here in the PNW. Well, as it turns out we had an incredible spring, and he only had to use it once for about 10 minutes (i'm a tennis coach and we had practice outside every day-first time in over 15 yrs!). Anyway, he is playing some WJGA tourneys in June/July and today it was raining (who would have thunk it in the summer!) so i ran back to the car to snag his umbrella which i put in after hearing the forcast. He opened it....for the 2nd time since he has had it...and one side of the umbrella had become separated from the arm. Looks like the small plastic cap had come off, and the loops of thin thread which held it on there were also broke. So, first thing i thought was maybe it was rubbing or something in his bag or whatever, but he NEVER keeps it in his bag. Also the umbrella is in a bag so there is no way it would be rubbing on anything (we usually keep it in the trunk of the car when we go to tourneys just in case). So, i really like the design, the look, and the price-but it seriously lasted all of about 15 minutes :( Unfortunately since we bought it in the spring, can't return or replace, so just out the money. Guess i'll look elsewhere for something that will hold up better! ... show more

I live in Florida where the rain rarely lasts more than 5 minutes. I've tried to manage with a little umbrella convincing myself that the convenience of something I can throw in my bag would make me use it more. The problem with small umbrellas is something is still getting wet. The last time I ran from my car through a parking lot in the rain I managed to angle the umbrella so all the water ran off INTO MY BAG! This umbrella is HUGE. It's big enough to cover me and all my bags. It's big enough to cover 2 people. I don't love that the brand name is printed across the storage bag, but that's not a big deal. I even use it to protect from the sun. I got stuck outside without sunscreen and it takes 15 minutes for me to burn. I can't speak to it's SPF but I was cooler and didn't burn so that's a win for me. It dries pretty fast and has a lifetime guarantee. No complaints. ... show more

This is a great umbrella, it is lightweight and easy to handle. It has been durable despite strong winds and a little abuse. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Well made. Good in driving rain. Nice and wide. Like the one hand opening. The only thing I didn't like is the plastic tips are not glued on, and can fall off. Weather strip adhesive will fix that.
