It comes in three parts. Not any big deal at all. The designs on the sides and mouthpiece are really pretty. And the tone is pretty good for a plastic instrument. The tuning is at 432hz.... if you are using the correct amount of air pressure. I had to blow significantly more air than I'm used to get the tuning needle at 0. It plays very easily, so excellent for a beginner. There is no odor. It does wet out but you just have to move the birds up and out of the way to blow the moisture out. It's great for a $40 product. If you truly want a professional, wood sound, this is not for you. It's a really good product! There are a few marks on it but I believe that that's from where the plastic 3D printing tabs were removed. I recommend this to those looking to try out a Native American Style drone flute or want something safe and durable for backpacking, canoeing, going outside etc. It is plastic, so beware of extreme temperatures. It even states it in their mini manual that comes with the flute. Enjoy! ... show more

    • Beautiful instrument for price!!
I’ll preface by saying I’m a professional, classically trained musician and play 15+ instruments. Wind instruments are not my primary—but I’ve played them. A lot of people are complaining about the quality of this instrument like it’s a toy. Yes, it is plastic 3D printed, so it is light, and doesn’t have the same tonal quality a wood instrument might have. Obviously. And yes, the very top octave note is a tiny flat—although as I’ve practiced I find that if I shift my breath control I can sharpen it up. Do I recommend this instrument for someone wanting something that sounds beautiful and is fairly easy to play? 100%! Like anything, it takes practice. And where this will never sound like a $500 drone flute, for $50 it’s amazing! I actually wasn’t expecting it to sound as good as it does. For those complaining about the quality or tone—practice. It’s really beautiful once you get a handle on it, has a super decent dynamic range, and it’s great to see if it’s worth investing in a more expensive one. I’m going to get the one in the other key. That’s how much I love this thing! ... show more

    • Hard to initially tune-but nice once set up
Play it a lot. Nice tone. Easy to play. Adjusting the two chambers with the sliding blocks for tuning was very hard and therefore frustrating. Long nose pliers worked finally. Once dialed in though, it was decent an I liked it. See video sound samples.

Great drone flute for this price! Wooden ones, although better, are ten times the price, and this one has great sound--as you can see from others' videos. If yours doesn't sound so hot, watch a YouTube video. You have to make sure the holes are completely closed, and that the breath pressure is right. A great little flute. It cracked me up that someone complained it was in 3 pieces and you had to put it together! Of course it's in 3 pieces--so simple to put together, and I love that it comes apart because I travel a lot. And the same person complained it was "just" 3D printed plastic.     • A good second flute!
I have several NA flutes and am friends with three people who make them. I also play the NA Flute fairly well. I bought this flute as a lark, really. The price was right and drone flutes are pretty cool sounding. This flute is very well tuned and is easy to play. The sound is pretty good as well and you can “tongue” the drone hole so you are playing only the melody. The instructions suggest you don’t leave this in a hot car due to the material it is made of, otherwise the flute is fairly durable. It was easy to assemble but I’d suggest NOT trying to take it apart. Doing so would likely cause leaks in the joints ruining the playability. Wow, shockingly awful and I am a woodwind player. Pitches did not change, drone was is double octave high zone and parts not well fitted. Buyer beware

I was surprised by this for the price, had to try it out and no regrets! It's my go to flute for hiking and just having fun with it. Only challenge is that the spit builds up quickly in the small holes and you have to clear it by aggressively swinging it upside down or else the tones are not as clear and octave jumps. Otherwise, fantastic little 3d flute that slides together tightly. Sounds better than it has any right to for what it is! ... show more
