I live in the mountains of Colorado. Therefore through the 25 years I've lived here I have owned a lot of boots. Sorrels which have a poor fit and not warm, Baretraps not water proof at all, Bearpaws great except NO traction - very very slippery. I was looking for a boot that kept my feet warm and dry without making my feet sweat and kept me from slipping on ice. In my search, I had tried other boots and wearing them around the house, within 30 minutes my feet were damp. So those were returned. These are very warm and I never sweat even when wearing them all day. Also I have stepped through ice water puddles that were deep enough to cover the toe box - 6" or so and water did not seep in. I am not sure if they would keep water out if you were to just stand in a puddle, but for me these boot are fantastic. Another note is that I wear a size 6.5 to 7 so I bought a size 7. They fit fine and I don't really have to tighten the laces because they fit my foot. This boot is padded with foam on the upper part, so it fits sung, yet if I put a thicker sock on, the foam just gives way and there is still room. I love the fact that I don't even need to tighten the lace - just slip them on and off. That might change as they get more packed out. I will update my review if that happens. And I have not slipped once - even when walking over ice. Lastly, I bought these because a friend had a pair. They looked brand new and she had them for a couple of years. She lives on 30 acres where they have to get out and shovel and plow so looks like they wear great also.

I researched boots for a long time before I bought these Baffin boots. I also read almost all of the reviews. For the most part, people say they run true to size or size up 1 size. I like big socks so I ordered a 9. After I received my boots, I wondered if I had been looking at a different boot. I attached one photo which is my women's size 7.5 Under Amour tennis shoe next to a Baffin women's size 9 boot. My 7.5 tennis shoe is bigger. Needless to say, I sent the boots back. They were so small there was no way they would be comfortable much less keep my feet warm. I reordered in a 10 in hopes that they will also run small and will fit correctly. I can't believe you need to order 2 sizes bigger, but I am going to give Baffin another try. Otherwise they will be going back too. Overall, it is a beautiful boot, well constructed, sturdy, good looking boot. Tread is good, liner is amazing, laces are strong and all around well built. I would say they are worth the money, they just need to figure out the size thing.

I was nervous about ordering boots online especially with the reviews... some said they run small and some said they were just right so I wasn’t sure what to do. I finally decided to just go with my normal size (size 9). I am happy to say I did! They fit perfect and are so comfy! At first when I put them on they seemed a little snug, but I wiggles my toes and realized there was plenty of room. They just hugged my feet in softness and it weren’t uncomfortable at all. They are cute and warm so far, but I haven’t had to wear them outside for a long time yet so I can’t say how long they will keep me warm. This review is mostly to help with size guidance... I say they fit true to size!

I bought these after feeling annoyed that I was having to purchase a new pair of Sorel boots after each season of snowshoeing. I have been pleased with the fit- despite others mentioning that they needed an extra size up, I found my regular size (11) perfect even with my thick winter socks. I have also been pleased with the warmth. During moderate activity (just casually walking) these boots have zero issue keeping my feet warm in below freezing temperatures. The height up the calf is great for allowing movement but still prevents most snow from getting inside the boots. The tread provides decent grip on icy conditions. The minor drawback to these boots is that they are not cute (unlike the Sorels I typically purchase)...but I was willing to overlook esthetics for performance, which up until my second month of snowshoeing had been great. Unfortunately, I’m guessing from where the snowshoe bindings connect and rub, both boots have developed holes where the leather upper coming unfastened from the rubber bottom. Now my feet are soaked by the end of each outing... apparently getting a full season out of my Sorels was a better deal than I thought... I would still recommend them just not for someone who snowshoes.

I haven't worn these yet, but I suspect they will be very good. I wear a 6.5 in heels and a 7 in everything else. However, I always order boots larger for thick socks because I have Reynauld's and feel my feet can never be too warm. I was going to order size 7.5 as usual but read the reviews and ordered size 8 instead. They are perfect! The dark brown w same color fur is just what I needed since I already own tan leather w black rubber Sorel Caribous, saddle leather w brown rubber LL Bean boots, and black Sorel Tofino IIs w Gray fur. These are different looking than all the rest and that and warmth is what I wanted. They are lighter in weight than the Caribous but will def be warmer than the Sorel Tofino IIs. I can't wait to wear them with brown leggings and my brown puffer. I will post an update once I can assess how warm they are outside. If I have to find one thing I am not crazy about is that I am very thin with tiny ankles and calves and cannot get them as tight around my calf as I would like, but they'll be just fine and they still look great.
