Oh my GOODNESS. I genuinely thought the reviews were being dramatic but I was wrong. This suit is MAGIC. We stopped swaddling my baby at 11 weeks and she could not sleep at all. Her arms and startle reflex were waking her up all night. I decided to try out this suit because I had heard of it from many people and she slept SEVEN HOURS STRAIGHT. I am not kidding. Amazing. I love that the neckline is low so that there is no chance of it covering the baby’s face - amazing safety feature. I roll up the legs a bit because my baby is short and it works perfect. Not to mention how cute this thing is. She looks like a little snowman. Material is nice and comfy but still light and breathable material. I do put her in just a diaper in it because I worry about overheating in general but I don’t think this suit is too hot. Seems pretty durable. I am so excited about this. I honestly can't recommend this product enough

HOW DID WE LIVE WITHOUT THIS?!?!? I honestly can't recommend this product enough. Of course, as a new mom, there is a story behind this... Our daughter was about three and a half months when we bought this for her. She is quite a big baby, but was still sleeping in the rock and play while swaddled. I knew I had a fairly uphill battle, getting her to sleep flat on her back and get out of the swaddle. I did some research online and this came up as a swaddle transition product, but I also saw that people recommended it for transitioning to a crib from a rocker. I thought it was worth a shot, and the reviews seemed promising. However, I'm fairly slow to 'drink the juice', so I bought this with some reservation. It is additionally worth noting that I used to nurse my daughter to sleep (I know..) every night, which took up at least 30 minutes of me sitting in complete darkness with a little baby slowly passing out with my nipple in her mouth. Once I thought she was asleep, I would slowly remove it and gently put her into the rocker, hoping and praying that she would stay asleep. I would do that crazy walk out of the room that looks like I'm in Mission Impossible, stepping around the floor to avoid the places I know creak or groan. Then, I would go out to the kitchen and stare at the monitor for another half hour to make sure she was going to stay asleep before I could actually relax. The day this product arrived, I washed it (it doesn't take long in our dryer - half the cycle one way, then inverted for the second - no problem) and my husband and I decided to test it out. I nursed her, we changed her diaper, and we went for it - put her to sleep (flat on her back) in the pack and play, no swaddle (obviously), and awake and THE CHILD FELL ASLEEP ON HER OWN. And we aren't talking about a long time here, folks. By the time we got to the monitor, she was already looking drowsy. Within five minutes, she was out cold and slept for six hours. It was such a liberating feeling for me to see her fall asleep on her own, not needing to chew on my nipple to make it happen. I couldn't believe that we made such big changes with so little effort - no rocker, no swaddle, no nursing to sleep - IN ONE NIGHT with such great results. It has been about six weeks since we've had this product, and it continues to impress us. Every time she goes to sleep, she is awake and is able to fall asleep on her own. It has totally changed how we approach life. My husband and I are able to go out for dates or let other people watch her because anyone can put her to sleep now. It has also helped her sleep for longer stretches of time, and makes nap time much easier. It has had the secondary benefit of helping her be a happier baby, I think because she is sleeping so well and has established her own routine. Game changer!

The only down side I find to this suit is that its dangerous to use when baby rolls over so upgrading to the sleep sack from this brand is necessary for safety reasons. This has been an absolute game changer for us. We plan on sleep training when baby is older but for now, this has allowed us to get baby to sleep for very long stretches. In fact, I still use it during one daytime nap when I can supervisor her to ensure she doesn’t roll over, its that good that I’m trying to squeeze as much use out of it as I can. Quality is great, we’ve been using it for two - almost three - months and it has held up perfectly to several washes. It still looks brand new so I’ll be passing along the two that we have to my sister once she has her baby in a few months. Its comfortable, soft, and light. Okay! So to start, I had a preemie baby that was in the NICU before coming home. He was VERY picky & particular about sleeping. He hated being cold & loved feeling snuggled up in warm blankets. At the same time, he absolutely hated being swaddled and having his arms held down. My husband and I struggled with both knocking him out AND making sure he stayed out. He would sleep the longest periods of time (about 3-4 hours in between) held by one of us. We were at the point of sleeping in shifts because if we were both awake at the same time, nobody was getting any sort of sleep. Short of simply putting him in bed with us, we were kind of at a loss. (Nothing wrong with people that safely cosleep, but this little guy is bottle fed & we already went down that path with our first & didn’t want to repeat it a second time) Enter Magic Merlin’s sleep sack. I had heard about the “magic” and seen photos of friends baby’s wearing the puffy marshmallow suit, but I honestly always thought it was just massively hyped up. (In retrospect, I’m a moron & maybe if I’d tried it with my first he wouldn’t have migrated into my bed) Does it work for every baby? Not sure. Did it work for MY baby? HELL YES. MY GOD THIS SUIT KNOCKS THIS CHILD OUT FLAT ON HIS DIAPER BOOTY IN WHAT FEELS LIKE A MILLISECOND. INSTANT 5-6 HOUR STRETCH OF SLEEP FOR A 3 MONTH OLD (if you’re a parent ((you must be if you’re reading this)), you know any sort of sleep is the most precious thing ((I mean besides our sweet little poop machines that don’t let us sleep)) ) This thing is great. No, seriously. I let him show signs of being sleepy (simple yawning/rubbing face) and I change his diaper, slip him in the sack & lay him down in the bassinet. 9/10 I can walk away and he’s already falling asleep on his own. During winter my bedroom is around 64-70 and he’s always perfectly snug, not too hot and not too cold. We sleep him in a onesie, footie pjs and socks. Is it perfect? No, but you gotta take a hit here & there. It’s pretty thick and does take a bit to dry when you wash it. The best thing here is to have 2, if possible. Another thing to note is I feel the suit does run a little small. I have the 3-6 months size but my child is 3 months & it’s pretty tight on him (he’s about 14-15 lbs). I definitely do not see this fitting him a month from now. While the double zipper in the front is very welcome for nightly diaper changes, I do still have to pull his leg up and out of the pant leg and this usually wakes him up if he’s drowsy or sleeping—as a result, I’ve begun to do diaper changes before sleepy feeds to avoid waking him up unnecessarily. My sons head is a little flat from sleeping on his back, so we’re encouraging tummy time during the day whenever possible. He isn’t yet rolling over, but I believe the suit must get taken away once they are rolling over or attempting to while wearing it (?) I also do not put the suit on unless I think he’ll want to nap longer than an hour or it’s time for bed at night. I do not want to restrict his movement throughout the day so I let him do his thing then. So far, this suit has been an absolute lifesaver. I think if used as intended, chances are you and your child will have a great time. It has helped my little one sleep longer stretches & be comfortable & warm. I’m not certain what to expect during the summer but I will probably sleep him in a onesie and diaper with the suit over. Literally life changing

If you're thinking about it, just do it. I can't believe what a miracle this product is. We have an 11 week old, who was waking every 3-4 hours in the night. Not horrible, but not ideal. The first night he wore this, he slept 8 hours straight. Even more importantly for our family, he never took independent naps. We would have to hold him for every single nap, and after about an hour, he would become hot and restless and wake up. It was really taking a toll on us, because one of us was always confined to the bedroom trying to get him to nap or holding him through his nap. We even had to to hire help, just so we could get a moment to ourselves. The first time I put him in the suit, I rocked him to sleep and thought, maybe I'll put him on my bed and see what happens. He just kept sleeping and had an hour and a half long nap! Previously, if we tried to transfer him from our arms, his eyes would shoot open and he'd start screaming. He had three independent naps the first day we got it. He's napping in his room as I write this right now. Also, we live in Costa Rica, so it's quite warm and he's been totally ok, not even sweating in it. We aim a fan at him during the night, not even using AC. When I picked him up after 8 hours, he was totally normal temperature, no sweat, no matted hair. We have the cotton version. Also, because we had to have a friend bring it from the states for us, we opted for the larger size, since we were worried he'd grow out of it soon (he's 11 weeks but already in 6mo clothing). It's a little big, but we just rolled up the pant legs and it works just fine! We're thrilled. Please, do yourself a favor and buy this! It's the best $40 I've ever spent in my life. ... show more

What you really want to know

These are great, but not for all babies. One of my kiddos took to it instantly and one took a few sleepless nights to adjust. They had both started sleeping full nights with swaddles and started to roll out of nowhere, so we needed a good solution. With these we only have 1-2 wakes a night and they fall back asleep instantly after soothing. I bought 2 of these because I have Twins. These are not a magic end all be all but here is what they ARE! Warm and soft, my girls both like to be super cozy and warm, these are definitely that. The first time I put them in they started to get fussy because they were too hot, this was during the day as a test, at night when the temp in the room drops it keeps them super comfortable. They’re also soft and plush which is probably far more comfortable to lay on than baby crib mattresses. The only thing that kinda stinks is their hands and feet stick out and get cold, so have some socks or gloves on hand. What they aren’t is swaddles or weighted, the babies can still roll and move their arms and legs. It does help dampen the startle reflex, but only as their arms lower to the mattress, if the baby flails in their sleep it does nothing to stop that. I got The Large, my kids are growing fast and for the price I couldn’t justify buying two for them to grow out too fast. At the time of purchase they were 12lb and abt 21” and they fit pretty well! Their arms fit the sleeves and hands stick out, they can’t easily slip down into the suits so I’m not worried about that, their legs don’t really stay in the pants part, they do pull them up into the suit but that’s not a bad thing! Not great for night time diaper changes, you don’t have to take them fully out but you do have to pull their legs out to change them and that could wake some babies. There was a slight chemical smell, but I had To get extremely close to notice it, eg I was Trying to smell if they had dirty diapers. Return policy is “as received” so that means not worn not washed so do take that into consideration. Because of the soft layer inside they take a LONG time to dry, they will shrink if you use heat so you just have to do a few extra spins on the wring cycle of the washer and air or tumble dry low with a dry towel or two to help cut down on the time, I also spot clean mine for things like throw up. Overall it’s definitely helped the transition from swaddle to nothing, especially since we had to go cold turkey on the swaddles. I consider It a good purchase and worth the money. ... show more

Mini Marshmallow suit LOVE

This super cozy little thing is awesome and baby absolutely loves it a week in. Switched our baby from the Lovetodream swaddle to this, idea of a smooth transition to the sleep blankets. This is an “in between” option. Baby doesn’t only look like a cuddly marshmallow but baby sleeping well in it so far and perfect warmth at night. This really did help my baby transition from a swaddle to arms out, however, I wouldn’t say it got him magically sleeping! But every baby is different. I like how this is made out of cotton so it feels light but at the same time, limits arm mobility just enough to calm to Moro reflex. My son has clubfoot foot so I liked that he could still wear this with his boots and bar. I will say it’s a pain getting his boots in and out of the leg holes but that’s a niche problem we have with it. Other than that it’s pretty great! ... show more
