Description

The Magic Sleepsuit is a patented swaddle transition product that helps transition babies from the swaddle by providing them with a cozy, secure feeling. The Magic Sleepsuit was created by a mother of four who is a pediatric physical therapist to improve the quality and duration of her babies' sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the bare crib only in a room at the recommended temperature for babies. The Magic Sleepsuit should not be used for co-sleeping, or with any sleep positioners. The Microfleece Magic Sleepsuit has a soft, breathable jersey cotton inner layer, a soft microfleece outer layer and a layer of polyfil in between for just enough comfort. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced at approximately three months of age when babies are transitioning from the swaddle. Babies should be transitioned out of the Magic Sleepsuit when they roll over or try to roll over in it and are ready for more freedom of movement in their sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit provides your baby with a cozy and calming sleep environment that will become a consistent part of their sleep routine. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to aid in baby's sleep patterns, and give parents peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development.

  • BABY MERLIN BRAND: BABY SLEEP SUIT & INFANT SWADDLE
Size: Large (18-21lbs) Color: Blue
BABY SLEEP SUIT & MICRO-FLEECE SWADDLE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS) Highly recommend this infant sleep suit for all babies who sleep best when swaddled securely and tightly. If your child rests most soundly when they are tightly bundled yet manage to wiggle their way out of their blanket swaddle, this microfleece sleepsuit is for you! My children have all loved being zipped up into this sleepsuit and have all seemed to find it cozy and comfortable. I’ve found that my kids all slept longer stints and more soundly when wearing this swaddle. They also fall asleep faster with less tossing and turning and uncomfortability prior to falling fast asleep. My son preferred solely wearing his diaper under the sleepsuit as an infant whereas my girls preferred to be in pajamas and then tucked into this magic sleepsuit. It provides the infants with a secure and tight fitting swaddle and almost acts as a weighted blanket for the child to optimize sleep. The only downside is the washing and cleaning of this product. We machine wash it along with other baby clothing however, we don’t dry it as it will tighten and shrink. It takes a solid 12 hours to fully air dry once machine washed so be mindful of this when doing laundry. The inside area by the legs and bottom region takes the longest to completely and fully dry, so we unzip the suit and hang it with the front flap open, once the wash cycle is complete, to ensure the inside dries completely. No one wants to be stuck without their child’s favorite sleep swaddle when bedtime rolls around, so be mindful when laundering. ... show more

  • By far the best purchase for my baby and myself
Size: Small (12-18lbs) Color: Yellow
This is by far the most important purchase that I made for my baby, my husband, and myself. I recommend it to every new parent I meet who has a baby with sleep issues and even experienced parents (my sister-in-law is going to try it with her second baby). Some of the mothers I recommended this sleepsuit to tried it with their own babies, and they found that their babies were sleeping for about eight-hour stretches at night shortly after they started using the suit. Before I started putting my daughter in the suit to sleep, I was recovering from severe postpartum depression and in major need of consistent sleep so that I could be the best version of myself for my baby. My two-month-old daughter was sleeping okay, with her longest stretch probably about five or six hours. She hated being swaddled and could break out of the tightest swaddle from when she was a couple of weeks old. The instructor in my mothers' group offhandedly recommended this sleepsuit, but I wrote the name down since I was willing to try out anything to help my daughter sleep. She was below the recommended age for the suit, and it was way too big for her, but I made some adjustments (like rolling up the sleeves) so that she was secure inside. The first night she slept okay, maybe six hours. She did cry at first when I put her in, and it took a couple of nights for her to get used to the sleepsuit. By the end of the first week using the sleepsuit, she was sleeping eight hours per night on average. Now, at five months, she is sleeping 12-13 hours at night (with no late night feedings) with two 2-4 hour naps in the suit. This is great for both of us, since she gets the sleep she needs to develop, and I have time to recharge and even time to work from home during the day. I can tell that a lot of the credit for her sleeping so well goes to the sleepsuit. Whenever I put her down for a nap without the suit, she sleeps much less. I suppose that is my only concern regarding the suit--transitioning her out of it. I already ordered the 6-9 month version, but I will probably start trying to transition her out of it fairly soon so that the transition goes more smoothly. I would almost say that the suit works too well. My five-month-old baby sleeps about 18 hours per day, so it can be hard to get out of the house and do things with her. The other thing that could be considered an issue but that hasn't really been a problem for me is that the suit really restricts what the baby can wear to bed. I usually put my daughter in just a diaper and a onesie before putting her in the suit. One night I tried putting her in just a diaper, but she managed to wriggle out of the suit, so I definitely would recommend against doing that, especially for babies on the smaller side. One final weird issue that I have had with the suit is that my mother-in-law, who babysits my daughter about twice a week, is afraid to put my daughter in the suit, because you do have to use a little bit of force to get the baby's arms through the sleeves. I could probably say more about how much I love this sleepsuit, but I think that's enough for now! ... show more

  • works...at least for our kid
Size: Small (12-18lbs) Color: Blue
UPDATE (3/02/13): we finally retired the sleepsuit last week. our son is now 6 mos. old, is 19 lbs. and 28 inches long. he still fits fine in the suit (though the sleeves are a tad short), but we decided to move him out of the suit because he's very active and we found him on his stomach a few times already. so yes, it is possible to roll over in the suit...and we just thought it was time for him to learn how to sleep without it. amazingly, our son sleeps pretty well without it. we have him in a full body jumper and a sleepsack...what's amazing is how much he loves to move around in his crib...he travels a lot...and he loves sleeping on his stomach, which is fine at this age. the sleepsuit served us well, though, and it was the perfect thing for him from 3-6 mos...hope it works for your kid. UPDATE (1/22/13): our son still sleeps in the suit and still does well in it. he sleeps anywhere from 6-9 hours through the night...and he seems to like getting into his suit. at 4 months he started rolling over...and the suit prevented him from rolling over while sleeping, but last week we found him on his side and then on his stomach while wearing the suit (at 4.5 months). so it prevents him from rolling easily, but not completely. we've since put a couple of pillows on either side of his legs and this has prevented him from rolling...he is now 5 months old, about 18 lbs., and about 27 inches tall. he fits the suit perfectly... we've washed the suit a few times, mostly when he's had a leaky diaper overnight. just turn it inside out, wash regular, and dry. no big deal. hope this helps. ORIGINAL: some tidbits: - my son is 3-1/2 months - weighs about 15.5 lbs. - is very active; always moving his legs and arms and rarely sits or lies still - i don't think he'll fit into the 3-6 mos. when he's 6 mos...but it's a bit loose on him right now. - we live in hawaii and it's not too hot to put him in it with just a diaper. he never seems sweaty or over-heated. he'd wake up if he were. swaddling actually made him really hot. okay. my son was outgrowing his swaddle me and we were thinking about what we should do next. he still startles quite often and moves around a lot when on his back in the crib. the sleepsuit was a desperate purchase by desperate parents. short story - it works. at least for my son. it's as good as swaddling in terms of giving him the comfort he needs to sleep soundly. but we think it's better than swaddling because his arms are free. in the swaddle, my son would spend a lot of time trying to get out...we could hear and see him grunting and wriggling to try and free his arms. he'd exert a lot of energy trying to get his arms free...and often we'd find the swaddle around his neck over his face. not too safe. with the sleepsuit he sleeps with his arms spread out...and he can still put his hand to his mouth when he needs to soothe himself...and he can hold his hands together as another soothing mechanism. we are VERY surprised how well he sleeps... we decided to use the switch to the sleepsuit as a good time to also let him soothe himself to sleep...up until a couple weeks ago we'd been nursing him to sleep. that's the only way we'd get him to sleep. and if he woke in the middle of the night, we'd have to feed him again. on the FIRST night we put him in the suit and let him soothe himself to sleep, he cried for 45 minutes before finally going down. but he slept for 8 hours! previously, the longest stretch he'd done was 6. and we've gotten 8 hour stretches every night since...and we hope to get even longer ones soon (yes, we're greedy). it's only been a few days, and he still cries for a few minutes before going to sleep...we hope the crying bit ends soon, but we're thrilled that he can put himself to sleep. maybe we're more thrilled that we can get some decent sleep, too. we also put him in the suit for naps. so, this sleepsuit works for us. i totally understand that it may not be for every kid...but why not give it a go? if it doesn't work the first week, return it. a good night's sleep for you and your kid is worth the try, right? ... show more
