The shelves don't look finished and they're a little rough- but they look fine in the bathroom. It was easy to install but I was hoping for better quality for the cost. These shelves are a much better deal though than the fake wood shelves from Target's Threshold brand.

I haven’t mounted these shelves yet, but I can tell that they will be sturdy enough for the books I want to place on them. I just wish the shelves were a bit longer but all in all, I am pretty satisfied with this purchase. I will update later about the mounting process. Update: After a while of buying these, I finally installed them. They we’re kind of difficult to install. They don’t seem that sturdy. One of the shelves is leaning downwards a bit. I’m worried they the shelves won’t hold up for long. But they have been on my wall for two weeks now and I saw a review that said that their shelves fell down within one week. So I guess they’ve lasted longer than I expected. Though I wouldn’t buy them again. ... show more

I’m sorry I hate to give a bad review, but these shelves do not make sense..the directions were no help, it showed the shelves with two holes in the wall, that was it, completely useless..me and a friend spent an entire afternoon trying to install them, The two large poles that are supposed to support the shelves, go deep into the wall, but do not support the shelves..I ended up putting two huge holes in the wall, and the shelves just sagged there, couldn’t hold anything, everything slid off...I’m really angry, I bought two sets of these..I got busy, with some other projects, so I missed the return window....They are sitting in my closet, still not hung up, a total waste of my money..Very disappointed in these shelves, now I have two huge holes in my living room wall that I have to patch...I wouldn’t recommend these shelves..I ended up having to buy a different brand... ... show more

So...first you put off installing the shelf. Then you put off reviewing the shelf. These were easy to install once I paid attention to the directions. After that, it's fairly clear that they are good for decoration but not a place to put your encyclopedia set. I would agree with the reviewers who note that it looks a little less "finished" than perfect. These are nice, helpful, and since you'll mount them to the wall, be pretty sure where you want them.
