I'm...square-shaped. Let's be kind and call it an athletic build? From my armpits to just above my knees, I'm about the same width. Broad chest and shoulders but not a particularly big bust. No big belly, but not a small waist. No big booty or hips, just average. Buy the numbers I'm 5'2", 150lbs, and I usually wear a Large top and a Size 8 pant. The size Large in this pajama set was perfect. The top has a full cut that is really comfortable for sleeping/lounging. It's long-ish as pictured, but it's not silly-long. If you're 5'5" or even 5'8" it's not going to be a belly shirt. Shorts have an elastic waist and a drawstring. The elastic is comfortable for me so I ditched the drawstring. FYI - the elastic is SEWN IN to the waistband so if you're thinking you'll order a smaller size cut the elastic waist band if it's snug and just slip the elastic band out, that's not going to work. The cut of the shorts is pretty generous so if you have an average or smallish waist but a bit more junk in the trunk, they should still fit pretty well. The shorts inseam isn't long (I'd say 3"), and I'm not sure I'd want to hang out at the mailbox chatting with my neighbor in these shorts, but they're not Daisy Dukes either. Fabric is really nice. Yes, it's synthetic, but it's not shiny, plastic-like, or cheap looking. It's breathable, has a nice amount of stretch, and is very smooth and soft with a matte finish. The shorts are so cute and SO soft!! They are also just the right length. Short but with booty coverage . I got the grey with the white plaid shorts with the pink, grey, blue plaid and I truly love them. Haven’t washed yet so will update if they don’t wash well. But I would absolutely buy another pair The shirt does have a seam across the top from shoulder to shoulder and has a little gathered place at the middle of the neck which I don’t notice in the photos. At first it wasn’t expect and I wasn’t sure I liked it. But they are so cute and comfortable as far as sleeping goes I love them. Also, as a Floridian where it’s hot 11 months out of the year, these didn’t make me feel hot I got an XL. I’m 5’6”, 34c, 190lbs, 44 inch hip, 33 waist, and they fit great.
