Fun fact, many printed text books are now being sold loose-leaf rather than bound! I didn't realize that when I returned to school! Finding a good binder for text books and notes, that can stand the test of being dropped, stuffed into backpacks and survive the quarter! The first few I bought didn't stand up to the challenge, so I turned to Avery and they didn't let me down! In my mind, it's worth the extra cost to buy Avery and feel more comfortable that I won't drop my binder and - say - have the rings snap open and have my papers scattered all over the place (as sadly happened with a store brand that was cheaper.) I purchased this item to help organize and store some papers I have concerning my health and dental insurance. I like that closure of the rings and that the binder is heavy duty. Although I will keep the binder in a file cabinet, it will be used a lot as I will be filing something in it nearly every month.     • These are good sturdy notebooks, but like any strong cardboard, they can't take abuse.

we use these to carry outside to write data in - some days are hot, some freezing, some windy. These hold up well. My only issue was with shipping. They were sent in a thin plastic envelope and during shipment they got bent. But I contacted Amazon, and they are replacing the damaged notebooks free of charge. UPDATE - I just received the replacement notebooks as promised. I had asked the amazon associate to please put a note to shipping to put them in a box or at least use some padding. They came in the same thin plastic envelope with no padding. One notebook is bent, and the corners are crushed. These are great notebooks, especially for using outdoors while walking. However, I can't recommend ordering them. I researched and found that to reduce packaging materials, amazon is going by how much the item weighs as to how they package it for shipping. These don't weigh enough to warrant a box or padding, so there is nothing to keep them protected. ... show more

This binder is exactly what I wanted. The color is exactly as shown (beautiful blue), love the inside double pocket on the front and back cover, all the rings are aligned with no gaps. I had no problem sliding my cover sheet in the outside front cover. The binder seems durable and it’s very easy to open to insert sheets and dividers. I wanted some binders this size into which I could put document protectors. I also wanted transparent covers and spine so I could slide in titles. These looked like they could do the job. They are doing job. I all worked out. On ring binders, the weak point are often the weak link. The rings and their operation are strong and function well. I expect to last. I thought the color would be a lighter blue. These were a little darker than I expected, but not so much that I elected to use them anyhow. Colors are sometimes difficult to get accurate in pictures.
