    • Great Bulbs once you understand LED Headlights.

There's a few complaint found with these lights, and LED's in general. Once you understand how to easily correct these issues, these are great lights. IF LIGHTS DON'T WORK It's not just the Auxbeam, but most LED lights are not wired the same way as the halogen's that are currently in our cars and trucks. I may just be referring to U.S. vehicles here but I don't know. For the LED's with two pronged connectors (like the 9005's and 9006's), merely flip the connector. The locking connector on the harness will be on the wrong side of the locking pin on the light. If you don't want to re-wire your harness, just zip-tie the connector together to assure they don't come apart. IF THE LIGHT BEAM IS NOT CORRECT I've seen complaints of scattered beams and of beams too narrow. This problem comes because of the design of the light AND the design of the light housing. Because of the large tabs on the halogen bulbs, the LED bulbs can be installed in two ways: with the LED's to the top and bottom or with the LED's to the left and right. Technically, the bulb is designed to be installed with the LED's to the top and bottom; but headlight housings may cause you to reinstall the light with the LED's to the right and left. How do you know which to use? I'm glad you asked. Look inside you headlight housing and notice how the reflective dome is made. If your using this 9005 bulb, you should have two reflective domes; one for low beam and one for high beam. Is the single dome round or rectangle? Some domes are completely, or close to, round. Some are rectangle with very little reflective mirror to the top and bottom. If your dome is round, you are more than likely going to install the light assembly so that the LED's are at the top and bottom. If your reflective dome is rectangle, you will install your light assembly so that the LED's are to the left and right. To install the LED's to the left and right may take a little finagling as they are technically designed to be installed to the top and bottom. It is not hard to accomplish, you just have to find the right position to start in that you can make all three tabs fit simultaneously and end up with the LED's to the left and right. My headlights have rectangle reflective domes. I installed the lights with LED's to the top and bottom and found the lighting was less than adequate. Once I moved the LED's to the left and right they light the road so much better. As far as the lights are concerned. The vehicle I installed these on is a semi-truck. I tried the brighter halogen's but the rough roads and rough ride of the truck would knock them out quickly. These headlight bulbs are brighter than the bright halogens and have handled the rough ride quite well. I'll be purchasing some for our cars. ... show more

    • Birght but they do not seem to last long

The bulbs are bright which is great but mine have gone bad already. The drivers side has started flickering already. When you look at the bulb you can see that it's a overheating issue. Around the LED it gets extremely red. Auxbeam does have a warranty which is great. However they require you to send in the bulbs to Auxbeam first so they can look at them to decide if they will be repaired or replaced. This is a problem if you drive your car daily since this will leave you bulbless. Gave it two stars since it is bright and they have warranty. EDITED: After posting this review, I was in contact with Auxbeam. They were extremely nice and helpful and ended up helping me out and sent me the bulbs without needing me to send them mine first. This is great because, as I stated, now I don't have to by driving around with no bulbs in my headlights. It's great to see a company that is willing to help their customers. I left one star off only because the original set didn't last to long but I am extremely happy their customer service is on point. ... show more

What with a crazed plastic lens (that won't buff out any more), the headlights are very dim. Driving in moose country with dim headlights is nerve wracking. With no aftermarket headlight assembly available for a 1990 Plymouth Voyageur, replacing the bulbs with the brightest I could find (and buffing the lenses again) was the only solution. These bulbs are MUCH brighter than the old halogen bulb, and have a very white light. There was a hitch installing them though. Installation note: The instructions call for inserting the LED bulb in the correct slots and locking it in with a 45 degree twist. My old Voyageur has a retaining ring that twists, the bulb stays fixed. The problem was that the fan on the end of the new LED bulb was too big to slide the retaining ring over it. Nicely, the mounting bracket on the LED bulb was held on with a single P0 Phillips head screw. 0) Mark on the headlight assembly retaining ring which side faces forward 1) Mark the hole on the bracket that has the screw with a pencil mark, and remove the screw. 2) Push the mounting bracket (with the O-ring) off of the end of the bulb. 3) Slide the retaining ring on, facing the direction marked in step 0) 4) Push bulb into assembly (on my car, the "Auxbeam" text was up (see photo) 5) Lock bulb in place Now I hope to see the moose in the road with enough time to stop before hitting it. Update: still pretty happy, but I would say that the “high beam” isn’t so much higher as much as it is a brighter “low beam”. It doesn’t shine much further down the road, but it does make the near to mid range objects more visible. ... show more

    • Did not work in my 2007 Chevy 2500HD.

While the connectors fit, the rubber O ring is too large to fit inside the light housing. I used the stock O rings and they worked fine on the bulb install. However, the large round backing on the housing is too large to swing the housing back into its holes without a lot of work. At the end, the damn lights did not work when I turned them on. If they fit and work on your, great. In my case they didn't..... I think the company is making products in a lab without actually seeing if the install in the models they say they are for.... ... show more
