I got myself a window tinting kit along with the “36x20ft” roll of tint here which is enough to cover all of the Side & Rear windows on my Chevy Equinox. The 36 inch roll is wide enough to cover the large rear window and gives you some extra if you mess up. A 25 ft. Roll may be needed for most people to have more than enough to retry with. I got this for privacy and people can no longer see into my vehicle easily with this 25% VLT which is the darkest allowed in my state. No matter which brand of tint you get, they are ALL hard to install and takes a lot of patience. It’s never as easy as the YouTube videos show! I have a Heat Gun and it shrinks nicely. To separate the Tint from the clear Backing layer, it’s very easy & simple: 1. Take 2 small pieces of tape and stick them to each other on a corner of the tint 2. When you pull the 2 pieces of tape apart, the 2 layers will separate. It also helps to spray soapy water onto the tint as you are separating it and try not to let it stick to itself as it’s very hard to pull apart once that happens. I used the blue bottle of Dawn liquid Dish soap and water in a spray bottle from dollar tree. The “amount” of soap you use will affect how much it slides on the tint. I recommend using a lot of soap. It will take longer to dry but easier to work with.

Was listed as a 2 ply film thought would be nice thick film that could be heat shrunk but the film is very thin and when heated to shrink it just crinkled and wanted to rip

I ended up never using it. I should have done my research before buying this and an install kit. I wanted quality tint on my truck and to install it myself. Turns out, you cannot buy buy quality tint. Top brands must be sold through a distributor/installer only and is not sold to the public. You could use this on home or auto glass but it probably won't last very long. If you want long lasting quality auto tint, just go get your windows tinted professionally. The price is good and it seems durable.
