  • The BEST traction device ever invented!
Model: HP697
I use these on all my vehicles but initially bought them for my BMW. Chains tear up delicate sensors and can do damage to the suspension parts, so are not recommended by BMW. And, if you've ever been stranded somewhere trying to put chains on in the cold- it's a nightmare! Enter the Auto Sock. When I purchased my first pair, I don't think many knew about them in my area. They were so easy, but how could they work so well? I was able to drive up hills with ice, in my little car, while 4X4's were spinning out all around me WITH snow tires on! The look on the other drivers faces was priceless! As a nurse, when I get called in to work, I can't say no due to snow and ice- I have to be able to get off my hill. These make that possible, and do it with ease. I even use them on my Subaru for even better traction on icy surfaces. They give me such piece of mind that I recommend them to everyone I know. With a recent large snow storm, my city was paralyzed. I actually gave my old pair (8 years old, used many times with only a dime sized hole in them) to a young woman who couldn't get up my hill and had been trying to for over an hour. I think they were a little big for her tires, but her smile as she drove off easily was worth the effort. If where you live ever gets snow or ice, get these- no matter what type of vehicle you use. They truly are the easiest things to put on and pull off. They are very durable, and the same price as chains. And, I've never seen a snow sock laying in the middle of the road like I do chains. Another plus is unlike snow tires that take up a large amount of room in the garage, they also don't tear up the roads when the pavement is dry. I wish they made these mandatory for people who don't have experience driving in snow- there would be a lot less accidents and stranded motorists out there. If you are looking for a great birthday or Christmas present for your kids going off to college, or anyone you care about- these are not sexy and probably not on anyones's list, but they are a great gift that will keep someone safe. ... show more

  • Snow Socks or Sorcery?
Model: HP697
AutoSock for Passenger Vehicles HP697 – I was skeptical—snow socks? Really? I imagined some guy in a lab coat thinking, “What if we just put giant mittens on tires?” But desperate times call for desperate measures, and after getting stuck in my driveway for the third time, I figured, why not? Installation – A Winter Olympics Event The instructions said “easy to install.” Lies. I looked like a confused penguin trying to put socks on an alligator. But after some trial, error, and a few choice words, I got them on. Performance – Witchcraft on Ice! The moment of truth—I hit the road, expecting to slide into a mailbox like a holiday disaster movie. But nope! These things gripped the road like a caffeinated squirrel on a tree trunk. I drove past SUVs stuck in the snow like I was in a commercial. Who’s laughing now, Todd with your fancy all-wheel drive?! Durability – Not Made for NASCAR Now, let’s be real. These aren’t meant for high-speed joyrides. They’re temporary, so if you drive on dry pavement too long, they’ll shred faster than my New Year’s resolutions. Final Verdict If you need a quick, magical solution for snow and ice, these things work shockingly well. Just don’t expect them to last forever or be easy to put on when your fingers are frozen. – Would absolutely buy again, and will probably still struggle putting them on. ... show more

  • No stress, easy to put on
Model: HP697
Easy to put on in and worked great. Have never used chains or been in a snow storm...these were so easy to put on and made a stressful time so much less stressful. We were happy not to have to struggle to put on chains. We pulled over, got them on and were back on the road in less than 10 min while others were still struggling to get their chains on. Drove about 35 miles in San Bernadino/Big Bear mountains in a heavy storm. They're still in good shape. A few tears but that's only because we learned they were not good for climbing up a very steep snowy driveway. Removed very easily and let dry in the house so they didn't freeze outside. I think we could use at least one or 2 more times. Definitely recommend. Don't forget to bring scissors to open the bag when you need them! Others had to borrow our Scissors to open their bags of chains to cut the zip ties off. ... show more

  • nice product
Model: HP645
i like the design of it. snow socks are way easier to install than a traditional snow chain. it did give me some extra traction on the wheels but definitely not as effective as a chain. the only problem is that it wears out really fast if you drive on dry pavement where there’s not snow or ice. so you better take it of when you don’t need it ... show more

  • Totally Works!
Model: HP697
We bought these for our trip up to the mountains in Tahoe. I didn’t have all-season tires and not a lot of chains fit our car since it’s kind of low profile tires/wheels. After sliding around trying to get out of the driveway during a storm, I tried these and they worked amazingly! I’m not sure how durable they are, how long they will last or how many times I can use them, but they did their job in a pinch. The self tightening/aligning totally happened as described. Very easy to put on/remove. Super light and compact design which was great. ... show more
