I've been reading the other reviews and i'm wondering what do people expect these days for $79? This vacuum pump works as intended. No, it doesn't come with Pump Oil. For my usage (evacuating an Automotive AC line) it reached -30 HG PSI in my system in just a couple of seconds and held it for as long as i had it running. Have used it on 4 different occasions since i got it for the same purpose (twice on same car and 2 other cars) and it's been flawless. Noise levels with the Oil Cap off is loud but it isn't supposed to be operated like that. With the proper amount of oil (at least on Min. mark) it's as quiet as a mini fridge compressor. Overall the build quality seems standard for this price point and the cord length is standard as well, slightly short, but standard. Overall this is a nice little vacuum pump for those interested, seems reasonably well built for the asking price so I'm happy with the acquisition. ... show more

    • This thing really sucks!!
I’d been looking for one of these for a long time, and when I ordered this I was very excited. It didn’t disappoint and now I’m able to do my own A/C work!! The 1/3 horsepower really shines, and you get way better and faster suction than a 1/4 horse. This one has two sized fittings for a hose where the other ones I was looking at only had the 1/4” fitting. Seems pretty quiet compared to older ones I’ve been around, and looks well built. It was extremely well packaged, and I had everything I needed already to hook it all up and get started on our auto A/C. If you’re looking for a really powerful little motor for A/C check this out, highly recommend!! If anything changes in the future I’ll come back and edit this post. ... show more

Once i had the correct amount of vacuum oil in it and followed the instructions for adding oil and breaking it in, i was able to quickly pull a vacuum on the AC in my 4Runner. I included a video to demonstrate how quickly it worked. It ran very quiet compared to all the other vacuum pumps i have used in the past which is a nice feature since you really should leave it running 30-60 minutes to do a good job of evacuating the system and boiling off any moisture left inside. It got warm after an hour of running but not so hot that it reached the thermal limit shutdown. It was about 85 degrees F the day I filmed the video. Water boils at 86F at 28.67 inches of vacuum so the goal is to get a little past that like at least 29 inches for a while so the moisture in the system will be removed. I help the process by heating components of the system like the dryer with a heat gun to make sure every last bit of water boils out. I think the only negative comment i can make is the lack of the vacuum oil. There are a lot of similar or comparable units on Amazon that ship with the required oil as part of the price. Having to purchase the additional oil adds around $14 to the price and you end up having a lot of extra oil that you will probably never need unless you are using this pump every day. I have to take away one star for the lack of oil. My final comment, the description says this pump can also be used for "Degassing Wine, Milking Cow". I am going to have to read up on that. ... show more

I took this vacuum pump out and was ready to try and test it out. I read the papers about it and discovered it DOESN'T come with compressor oil! I was throughly disappointed not to be able to use it yet. Once I locate some compressor oil I will test it out and update my review. The vacuum pump looks well made and decent but without oil to run it I can only review how it looks. Will update later. *** I found some compressor oil finally and filled the compressor. Gave it a test run and it works just fine. It pulls a good vacuum on the system and pretty quick too. Happy with my purchase. ... show more
