  • Wow!
Absolutely did not expect that ending!!! As per his usual, Bryce Gibson has the ability to keep you on the edge of your seat with the constant action and twists and turns to the story!!

  • A very good suspense novel
I've read some of Gibson's other novels and I think Auto Shop is his best work so far. Full of suspense and likable characters who may not survive until the last chapter.

  • Fun Slasher Literature
17-year-old Travis Conrad dreams of two things: working as a mechanic in the pit at a popular raceway and winning the hand of the girl he has been secretly in love with for years. Despite the dent in his family’s past: his father being a suspect in a still-unsolved murder from 20 years ago, Travis’ future is looking bright. But as the date of his father’s 20 year high school reunion approaches, some strange things begin to occur. First, a stalking green vehicle popping up more times than Travis is comfortable with. Then come the acts of vandalism. When it escalates to his friends and family being viciously targeted, the lucky ones ending up in a hospital, it becomes clear that someone from his father‘s past is executing a decades-long revenge plan. This is a fun, 1990’s-style slasher story where the killer’s sharp instrument of destruction has been replaced with a vehicle or auto-related tools. The pacing is fast, murders are numerous, characters are sympathetic and the villain’s twisted motive is cleverly plotted. This is a fun ride (no pun intended) that succeeds in keeping the reader guessing & on their toes for every one of its suspenseful chapters. Recommended. Excerpt: _ “In the moonlight, the junkyard resembles one of those brightly-colored spook houses that pop up at the state fair every October. The headlights sweep across the space of the junkyard and I’m able to get a clearer look at what’s directly in front of me. Mr. Whitaker‘s lifeless body is laid across the front end of the monster truck. The large pointed teeth on the underside of the hood are buried deep into his back.“ ... show more

  • Good read
Overall, it is a good read. To me, it read like a younger person would enjoy it more than an older person.

  • Sins of the past…
Sins of the past bleed into the present in this fast paced thriller. Reads like the low budget Slasher movies I grew up watching in the 80’s (which is a good thing)…

  • Killer Read
Killer Tech: Auto Shop (KT:AS) brought back the memories of those great ‘90s movies like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. I am a huge fan of those type movies from back in the day, so this was a nostalgic read for me. KT:AS was an interesting murder mystery where numerous people are a suspect and many more are taken out in accidents involving automobiles. I should’ve figured out who the killer was; I mean, the clues were right there right in front of me, but I didn’t. But that was a good thing; it means the story wasn’t predictable, so, well done on that account, Bryce. Check this one out; it’s one of Gibson’s latest and one of his greatest. Four supped up hot rods from me. That was a fun ride. Looking forward now to the second in this series Killer Tech: High Voltage. ... show more

  • Will definitely be reading more by Bryce!
This is the first book I’ve read by Bryce and I’m intrigued to read more now. He built a good storyline and decent characters. It’s a quick read, so it’s not horribly involved, but deep enough to get the story across with details. Travis Conrad is your main character and he’s written in a way to be likable and relatable. I’d definitely suggest this to someone that wanted to dip their toes into horror without getting into something too deep or graphic. ... show more
