As other reviewers have noted, the description for this product is WRONG. It is a NOT an "AC Pro", it is an "AC". The Pro has a touchscreen and Bluetooth. This does not. That said, the charger is great. While 80 amp chargers are rare for residential use, I have a Lucid EV and they specifically recommend an 80 Amp charger. It gladly charges the car at a full 19.2 kW as advertised. As an automation enthusiast I also specifically wanted a charger that supports OCPP, and this one fully works with Home Assistant and as a result I am able to automatically reduce the charging current to shed load as needed and load balance with another charger. I did have a defective initial unit unfortunately. The yellow LED ring kept blinking yellow forever, and it would not change to indicate charging status. Autel support was great! Once I got to Robbie, he took ownership of the case, kept me promptly updated in his investigation of the issue, and ultimately authorized a return as defective. Amazon sent a second unit and it worked perfectly out of the box.

It was a struggle, but everything is working fine now... Where to start? First the product description is false. They did not send me the "AC Pro" model. They sent me the "AC" model. This model does not have Bluetooth which ends up being significant. The charger was installed properly with a newly installed 100 amp fuse and an extended and expensive cable run, but when first connected, it would not charge my EV. The charger first had to be activated via Autel software. Autel Customer Support walked us through the process of downloading the Autel Charge App and connecting to the charger's hotspot. Once connected to the hotspot you are suppose to be able to give it the WiFi credentials and connect it to the internet, and once connected to the internet you can activate the charger. However, the handoff from hotspot to WiFi never worked. The software gave positive feed back (hotspot located and connected, WiFi network located and connected), however, the charger never was connected and could not be activated. First, they started telling me this was a commercial product that could not be set up with their consumer software and needed to be paired with their cloud service. I pointed them to the portion of both the Quick Reference Guide and the Installation and Operation Manual stating that this charger can be used through the consumer Autel Charge App for residential use. However, that software seemed to prefer the option of connecting via Bluetooth and configuring the charger that way, but again, this model does not have Bluetooth. Autel Customer Support could not figure out how to get their software to talk to their hardware. Meanwhile, their product was a useless brick attached to my wall with a solid yellow LED circle indicating not activated. I even attached the charger physically to my network with an ethernet cable, but it still would not connect and could not be activated. Autel Customer Support could not come up with a solution and "escalated it to engineering." That was when the run around began. Solutions were promised, but never provided. Call backs were promised, but never made. Emails were promised, but never received. Eventually, all my calls were put on endless hold then disconnected. UPDATE 1: After I submitted this review at the peak of frustration, I was contacted by Autel Customer Support. They determined that the charger that I had was defective. They sent me a new charger in two days. My electrician came back up to my house and swapped out the new charger for the defective charger. The new charger could accomplish the hand-off from hotspot to WiFi and my charger is connected. Once connected, I could change the charger's permissions, and it will now charge my car. I am getting between 17 and 18 kw of power delivered to my Hummer EV so it is doing its job. The LED status lights are not acting according to the manual, but at least it is doing the job of charging my EV. Still, Customer Support could have been more communicative. UPDATE 2: Customer Support has persisted. They have been regularly following up by email and have released some firmware updates to fix my LED status light problem. Now, the LED lights are working perfectly. The charger is now working as it should.

I recently purchased a new GMC EV truck and, while shopping for a proper charger, I temporarily used my neighbor’s 240V outlet with the charger cable that came with the truck. Charging at 48 amps felt painfully slow, so I knew I needed something more powerful. I decided on this 80-amp charger, and I’m glad I did. I had it installed right next to my electrical panel by a certified electrician, and the process was quick and straightforward. I also ran an Ethernet cable directly to it to ensure a stable and reliable connection. Setup and registration through the mobile app were simple, and I was able to test it immediately. The app makes it easy to set charging schedules, monitor live status, and manage everything seamlessly. The included 25-foot cable easily reaches anywhere on my driveway, which is a big plus. Overall, this 80-amp charger delivers excellent performance, solid build quality, and great value for the money. It works flawlessly so far, and I’m very happy with my purchase.

I finally got around to installing the unit. As mentioned in a previous review, my charger still won’t activate properly—it just stays on with a yellow glow. I can start charging it “offline” by verbally saying “start charge” in the app, but that’s very annoying since I have to do it every time I plug in the charger. No Bluetooth even when the app asks for the Bluetooth. Not sure if I got a defective unit or if it’s just a poorly designed product. I contacted Amazon but haven’t received a response from the vendor. I really wanted to like this product, and I even bought it for over 1400 dollars before it was on sale.

Recently bought a Chevrolet Silverware EV and with my old 40 amp charger the charge time from 20% to 80% was taking over 12 hours. This wouldn’t work for my daily commute, so I purchased this Autel 80 amp MaxiCharger. The same charge amount now takes just over 7 hours. Install was easy, if your existing electrical panel has room, a simple 100 amp breaker and some 3 gauge wire should be all you need. The charger itself sets up is simple. The app works great and provides good data feedback. This charger can also be configured for commercial use with RFID access. My business owns several Autel automotive tools so I was familiar with their customer service which is another reason I chose to purchase this unit.
