I am 5’5”-5’6”, about 135lbs with a 29in waist. I ordered a medium. I typically order a small in leggings for the compression and a medium in shorts so I don’t look like a busted can of biscuits. The fit is comfortable. The leg part can be pulled down to just above the knee if you want which kind of surprised me because the picture shows a much shorter leg length but it’s all good. I like that you can adjust it to your liking. They don’t seem to be sheer or see through. I wore them to a spin class today and they rolled completely up my legs (to be expected) so I’ll probably only use these for lifting. The band is wide and has mild compression. My only complaint is that the stomach “pooch” area has zero compression. This is arguably where I want all of the compression to be. Other than that, I like the fit and color. There’s no front seam so that is awesome and the back scrunch is probably the most flattering that I’ve found for my body type. It gives some definition without looking ridiculous. ... show more

It doesn't roll up, instead it slides up. I don't know if my thighs were just eating it up but the shorts hiked up after some time. Very soft. Not see-through but still light weight. Kind of sweat wicking.

These shorts are fantastic, I’m thick, especially in the butt and thighs and these shorts don’t ride up. Unlike other shorts, I can complete my whole workout without having to pull them down and adjust them. They stay in place even during my runs preventing chafing. I love the color options these shorts have! They are very stretchy and breathable. I love Them I just don’t reach for them often unless it’s a upper body/light day. Cons- roll up easy, long/lot of material even when folded from the bottom and show sweat easily.

My waist was at the lower end of the size large measurement, but my hips were at the top (off chart by 1”) of the xl measurement. I went with the XL, and I’m very glad I did. I got the dark teal color, and I have a feeling if I wore a patterned panty underneath, they would NOT be squatproof. I don’t mind that though bc I don’t plan on wearing anything patterned. I usually wear a size 14 (sometimes can squeeze a 12) with a big butt and thick thighs. If you have slimmer legs, I say true to size would work, but if you are thick, I’d go up one.
