Features

  • Semi-Dry top diffuses splashed water that would normally freely enter the snorkel top
  • Streamlined snorkel design that clears easily and is comfortable to use
  • Sleek profile makes it easy to stow or strap as a valuable addition to your dive bag

Description

The Atomic Aquatics SV2 Semi Dry Snorkel SV2 combines the Scupper Valve lower section with the sleek looking Semi Dry top with horizontal vents that diffuse splashed water that would normally freely enter the top. The small gaps between the vanes of the vent restrict water speed and droplet size and permits most of the splashed water to exit the special vents. Includes Quick Disconnect keeper, sliding snorkel keeper and rotating mouthpiece.

  • Expensive, but makes all day snorkeling really pleasant.
Good snorkel, fast draining, resilient against saltwater. Expensive, but will likely remain my first choice over all the other snorkels in the dive locker because of how nicely it complements virtually any mask. It also feels great snorkeling for hours - no mouth fatigue, no backwash. Easy on, easy off (to the mask strap) makes it great for traveling. ... show more

  • Good for Divers, Snorkelers can save money by looking elsewhere
This is probably a good snorkel for scuba divers who will be breathing through a regulator and just using a snorkel, occasionally, at the surface for short surface swims. Unfortunately, I bought it for snorkeling, where a cheap long tube with a fixed mouthpiece seems like it would've worked just as well if not better. I've noticed that the bend at the top of the Atomic SV2, that wraps behind your head, brings the top of the tube too close to the water's surface. Water keeps getting in through the top, and though it's designed to just pass through the purge valve at the bottom, it frequently doesn't. That water often ends up in my mouth while breathing. On the plus side, the snorkel does appear to be very sturdy and made of quality materials. The mouthpiece even though it's attached to a flexible (not fixed) hose is quite comfortable -- at least for me. I just keep thinking I could have saved a lot of money by buying a cheap, straight, long, old-fashioned snorkel with a rigid mouthpiece (something designed to keep the snorkel's top well above the water's surface). This probably would have worked just as well, if not better, for my purpose -- long hours in the ocean snorkeling. ... show more

  • Very nice, Semi Dry as stated, but hard to clear sometimes
This item is pretty good so far. It is a semi dry and very cool looking. It also is pretty comfortable, the only thing I notice is sometimes its a bit harder to clear then other Semi Dry snorkels especially ones with a purge valve.

  • Best snorkel I've ever used
I was very hesitant initially as I could have bought others for almost half of that price. I was encouraged by the good reviews. I'm glad I got it after I out it on a test recently. It was an excellent snorkel for snorkeling and diving as well.
