  • I Have FOUR Of These - All Awesome!
Style: 23.6" HDMI, D-Sub, DVI
I purchased two of these several years ago based on the inexpensive price at my local computer store. Two years later, I purchased two more of the exact same model so I could fill out my desk with four identical monitors. They are plenty bright, sharp, and have a great overall picture. My only complaint is that the viewing angle is severely compromised if looking off-angle - but not enough to warrant any major concern. I don't use the speakers - but I've heard them before - and they are basically useless. I wouldn't recommend using them as your main speakers. Otherwise, product has been great! ... show more

  • Asus has great monitors
Style: 23.6" HDMI, D-Sub, DVI
For the past ten years I have been buying Asus monitors and I love them. I had a another brand before this and after two years the other brand monitor had a problem in the corners, black scratchy looking. All my 5 Asus monitors have been working ever since and I have not had one issue. The video looks great and some of them have audio out for external speakers. I use one for a computer area TV, two for my main computer, one for my laptop setup and one for my home security system and for 5 years has been on all the time, 24/7 .When any one of these fail I will but another Asus to replace it. ... show more

  • Oof
Style: 23.6" HDMI, D-Sub, DVI
I just finished building my first PC today and used this monitor for the majority of the updates that was needed. I thought it was fine for hours till I decided to attach my original main monitor. You can clearly see the ASUS monitor on the left has a yellowish tinge to it and is darker and less sharp than the HP 24f monitor on the right. I originally thought it was my eyes getting blurry from lack of sleep. Nope! It's the monitor. The images are crisp on the HP monitor and it kinda pisses me off I can't return the ASUS monitor (tossed the packaging before I knew it was this different). I'll be giving this to one of my friends that needs a second monitor, so at least there's one good thing to this. As a normal monitor, it's...ok. The Dell ones at work are sharper and brighter than this. I literally spent 2 hours messing around with the settings to try and get it to match the HP monitor to no avail. Since I'm an artist, I need sharp images with vivid colors. This monitor isn't the one for me. ... show more

  • Absolutely Horrible Quality Control
Style: 23.6" HDMI, D-Sub, DVI
I'm not sure what the situation is concerning the quality control of this particular monitor brand. I first purchased one of these monitors about two years ago. The monitor I received at that time was stunning for the price range. The colors were glorious. Very deep blacks, very bright whites. A little color bleed at the edges, but that's to be expected at this price range. I barely had to change any calibration settings. It was the best monitor I had owned. So when these monitors went on sale for $100 each last week I purchased two more for a triple monitor setup. I was basing this purchase off of the one that I currently own, and how great it looks. Why have one great monitor when you can have three at a huge discount? Wow, do I feel cheated. The two new monitors look like absolute trash. One of them has a green tinge to it that is impossible to remove. I spent hours attempting to calibrate the colors and change settings to remove this green tinge and nothing will work. It's bad enough that my wife, whose eyesight is so poor that she's legally blind, walked into the room and said "Why is the monitor on the right so green?" Neither of the two new monitors that I received will show black tones without turning the brightness and contrast down so low that every color on the screen is muted. I've used several color calibration techniques and even some third party software to attempt to get the two new monitors to acheive the color clarity of the first one. I thought it might be the cables so I swapped the cables around. I thought it might be the video card so I tried them in my wifes computer. Nothing works at all. I now have three monitors sitting on my desk with the same black/grey/white wallpaper. The wallpaper looks different on all three. One is slightly washed out where the black in the picture is not really true black. One is absurdly washed out, the blacks are light grey at best and the greys are green. I am extremely disappointed. It's two weeks into the holiday season so returning these monitors for a replacement will be a nightmare. Not to mention I'm sure that I will have to pay the shipping costs to send two big bulky monitors back, and who knows what I'll get in return if I exchange them instead of return them. How many exchanges will I have to do in order to get two monitors that look as good as the first one I bought two years ago? By the time I add up all the shipping costs, I might as well have purchased the more expensive competing product that I wanted in the first place and never had to worry about washed out, greenish tinged colors. Do yourself a favor, spend a few more dollars on a quality monitor from a quality vendor so that you don't end up in the situation that I'm in with a triple monitor setup that looks ridiculous to anyone with normal color vision. EDIT: Some images that I took with my phone. Even with a crappy phone camera the difference in monitor quality can be easily seen.
