  • For the money and quality, GREAT: Bought two monitors
This is a freesync monitor. I have a cyberpowerpc custom built EVGA SC2 1080 Ti and it works flawlessly without any tearing or lag when hardcore AAA gaming. Even with video/photo editing it works well and the colors are fine to me. I'm not a pro video/photo editor, but a causal computer user and gamer. I love the Rog Strix stuff and also enjoy the subtle RGB lighting behind it. I have the RGB bug. The cons are not knowing what it would have been like if I bought the Gsync version but that would also mean I'm spending about at least $500 more for the similar monitor from ASUS Rog Strix line just for the gsync and a TN monitor which is a big no no for me. The VA monitor on this cheaper version is way better than TN. I think VA is in between the TN and IPS monitors in regards to color and visual quality. I use to have the predator B1 i believe, 24 inch TN gsync monitor and it was bad and nothing compared to this one. I really enjoy my purchase and VERY happy with it. I dont mind that it doesnt come with speakers because you dont need it. I got myself better speakers, the LG G560 and its like a RGB EDM dance party in my room. The monitor's base is so firm and solid, I can't rock it at all and just because you dont put the table too close to the edge. It has two ports: one DP and one HDMI. The DP goes to my EVGA 1080 TI and the HDMI obviously goes to my xbox one X. Its a huge man cave here. I'm so happy with the monitor and glad I didnt go for the 24 inch because this 27 inch was just perfect. I'm coming from a 27" iMac 2013 model and I thought initially this monitor was going to be like the imac but its not because it doesnt have the huge bezel around the monitor. Overall happy! Now, I'm tempted to save up money and if the rog strix line for IPS gsync monitors get cheaper, maybe i'll look into that and give this one to my wife to use. Even she loves this monitor. So far no problems with it even after shipping to Hawaii! Update 30 Oct 2018: These line of monitors are so good, I bought the XG35VQ as well to add. No dead pixels. No color issues or panel problems. The box that came with it was damaged due to UPS shipping due to raining a lot in Hawaii today. I dont think Amazon shipped me a slightly damaged and wet box. The monitor inside was dry so that was good. It hooked up very well. I had to get used to the settings since it was slightly different from my XG27VQ next to it. I dont like the ELMB feature because of ghosting with my 1080 Ti. I know this is a freesync monitor, but I didnt want to pay for the expensive gsync feature. My XG27VQ works perfectly and pictures are beautiful, now with this XG35VQ, this is a HUGE beauty that makes me feel like I'm at a star wars battle station. I can't play youtube videos on full widescreen but its still good if you dont mind the black bars on the side, which I dont since I mainly bought this ultrawide screen for the screen real estate for productivity and heavy PC gaming with WoW, CODBO4, Fortnite. I play other titles like BF1, BF5 when it was in beta, destiny 2, dragon ball Z, assassins creed odessy on my xbox one X connected to my XG27VQ. Overall these two monitors are BEASTS with my 1080 Ti. I am a happy customer. Now, how do I get my copy of COD BO4? ... show more

  • Very happy with this display.
This is my first curved display, and I'm pleased with the experience. I build my own computer systems and had a lot of factor in mind. I was looking for a good balance of price vs performance and for the money, like what I got. I have not had success so far setting it up as far as G-Sync, even though I updated the display drivers in Windows 10. I was hoping to find a curved, HDR, 4K, but unless you want to spend a fortune, it's near impossible to find. I'm used to a 1080, I use it for gaming and feel this is an even better monitor than my previous 25 inch Acer. The Acer had an issue which cause occasional black-screen. It was very frustrating, and after the fact, learned many Acer monitors suffer from this. It's the reason I needed a new display. I play First Person Shooters, so a monitor which can keep up is important. I like the various options to tune your colors, the height adjustment features are the best of any monitors I've owned and am very happy. If I had to list a negative, it's the lack of an internal speaker. I use a headset for gaming, so never invested in a fancy external speaker setup, but once in a while when I want to show someone a YouTube video or have them listen to something, I can't just unplug the headset and let them hear it. It's a minor issue, but the only negative I have. As long as this isn't important to you, I think it's a great choice monitor for the money and features. ... show more

  • All around amazing monitor
I have loved this monitor from the day I got it, and I set it up wrong the first time. I had forgotten to tell my computer it's 144hz, and it was running at 60hz up until about a month later, I realized it wasn't letting games get higher than that. the back panel is the only con, with its less than reliable positioning, it makes it a little difficult to plug something in if you don't have enough cord to bring it to the edge of the desk. other than that, perfect for standing up, sitting down, laying on your bed, and having multiple across the desk. the only downside is that it's been discontinued, really wish I could find a second one for my setup without having to pay 700 dollars for some eBay listing. ... show more

  • Very nice monitor
This monitor is beautiful, been using it for over 4 months, and I love it. Actually used the blue light filter setting a few times even, so that's a neat feature. I did end up putting in a different base, as the included one takes up too much room on my desk, but other than that, I have had no issues. The rgb aura lighting on the back does NOT sync with asus aura motherboard/software, which was kind of a bummer, but I never really look at the back of the monitor anyway. The curve is nice, but not so drastic that it feels gimicky, just makes it a little more comfortable to look at. Be warned, when I received it in the mail, I thought someone had shipped me a refridgerator, the box was enormous. ... show more

  • Love this monitor
I primarily use this monitor for gaming, I'm also a software developer. The monitor arrived in a super sturdy box, insulated with styrofoam. There were no dead pixels, and the screen is uniform. I'm paring it with a GTX1080 and love the smooth responsiveness. The monitor wraps around your field of view, and really pulls you into the game. I could not be happier with my choice. I have been lusting over this monitor ever since I purchased the 27inch for my nephew. Don't hesitate its a great monitor. ... show more

  • Expensive. But well worth it.
Owned this monitor for almost a year now. 144hz works very nicely. Never going back to 60hz for gaming. Maybe never even 120hz 😅. Curved gets useless over time. Especially because the monitor is that much smaller. It doesn't make for too much of an immersive curved experience. It's just a small detail others catch from looking at the side of the monitor. And the rgb ring on the back seems pointless with how dimm it is. Should have taken it out to add another nicer more useful feature. Or just made the rgb brighter. Otherwise. Perfect monitor for 144hz performance. ... show more
