  • Still a great phone years later.
in the year and about a half that I had it, it has the best and most reliable phone I've ever had and played any game off the app store i threw at it honestly meriting a 5/5. Seriously powerful phone and well worth the money. However, in recent light of events I really hate to have to write the rest of this in case somebody might be looking to purchase this phone (new, used, 2nd hand, whatever ect ect) but when A12 released on it and removed the VoLTE feature from the phone, that they themselves added to the phone last year on A11, it now will no longer make or receive phone calls due to it defaulting to 3G for voice on A12, which no longer exists in my area and probably many others. I don't know if this is a bug or somebody in the engineering department forgot about it but thanks to whatever the cause was you half bricked a $1000 phone. I particularly like the devices i own, (routers, pc parts, laptops to name a few) that ASUS makes but as things stand I don't think a phone will be in that list again. It's unfortunate but I have been at the time of this writing trying things to get it to work again (some basic & some very Technical) and have reached out to support but I already foresee this being a failure with no resolve. i will be looking into downgrading the OS too, that may be the final solution before just running out and buying something else. I will update this review if things change but again I have very little to no faith in them. Update. 7/16/2022 Got the phone working by reverting back A11 and blocking automatic updates for now. you do it by pressing the 3 dots in the top right corner while in the menu to check for system updates. on another side note. Support was of no use. All they did was tell me things i already knew, dodge the question even after sending them screenshots of the missing entry, wanted random log files that had nothing to do with "where is VoLTE?", used their excel spreadsheet of generic answers that again just ultimately dodged the question, and the list of general unhelpfulness goes on. With that said i'm keeping an eyeball out for updates that mention adding it back in. because i really don't want a new phone right now and would like to keep this one for awhile. Conclusion: Asus: Good products. Asinine, dumpster fire customer support. You should just delete that phone number and email contact information off your website because it's more than just irrelevant. Update. 2/24/2024 Sometime before 2023. Noticed an update that fixes the VoIP problem and confirmed that it does fix it. I've updated my review to reflect that and still using the phone as of 2/24/2024 with no problems to complain about. ... show more

  • An awesome phone!
The phone is amazing. It can go about 8 hours straight on pokemon go which that alone should tell you how great that battery life is. The phone is fast and just as it said it is 5g compatible. I didn't have any troubles since I use TMobile. The screen is very sensitive perfect for gaming but something to get used to. It has many settings to help you fit your needs. Now then the rog can be very intimidating to some since it has its own unique setting system apart from a regular phone settings since it is a gaming phone ,but rest assured you don't have to really do much you can use it as a regular phone. I personally love it the camera is fine I don't really take many pictures but it isn't disappointing the storage is great and just overall just a phone I needed however a warning this thing is massive it is almost seven inches long and three inches wide! (This is an edit) Okay so because of its size never let it fall face up it will die and stop working. So be very careful with it. It is difficult to find people who can repair it and a bit expensive. Overall still definitely worth the purchase. ... show more

  • Amazing phone for gamers.
Amazing phone 100/10. Perfect for what I, a gamer, wanted. The battery life I amazing. It lasts 8 hours full on gaming and I'm sure it'll last many days in idle (unless you have cooling fan connected) The phone is so worth the money. For 512 GB memory and 12gb ram this is worth the 900$ The specs on any websites doesn't mention finger print recognition but it does on the front. Very useful. Only warning to you guys is. They may send you a UK Plug inside the phone box, like they did with me, but don't worry. I thought I would have to send the phone back but the shippers may send you a separate Uk to us Adapter that WILL trigger the hypercharge. Just look separately in the bag it was in. ... show more

  • So far it's a great phone.
Been using this Asus ROG 3 global edition for a few days and it's exceeded my expectations. I will list the pros and cons below but I must first note a few initial impressions, starting with how the phone was nicely packaged in it's original box, sealed, and included the power cable and plug, which was a USA plug, so no plug power adapter was necessary; the cooling fan; stickers; hard plastic case; and USB to audio adapter, which was a nice surprise as the phone does not have a built in 3.5mm stereo jack. Pros: The screen is responsive and sharp. Even with an added glass screen protector the touch and scrolling is unaffected. WiFi is fast with excellent coverage utilizing the dual-band WiFi. Call quality is excellent, even over the speakerphone which is loud. The sound overall quality is very loud and clear. The flashlight is bright! My other phone is a Sony Xperia 1 II which is not bright and compared to this phone is quite dim. The battery lasts a long time, which is not surprising considering the size and weight. Cons: The thumbprint reader does usually take more than one press to read. I am used to quick thumbprint reading on my Xperia 1 II. I did not setup face recognition. I haven't tried using the cooling fan, nor the camera. Perhaps I'll update the review when I do. When I turned on the phone I was worried I received a Chinese language only phone because only Chinese characters were displayed. But I found pressing the characters when the phone came on opened a language selection menu. ... show more
