  • Glorious, glorious beams of light directly into my eyes
Style: 27" 4K USB-C 96W Mac
TLDR: fantastic. Color accurate, flickerless, and beautifully smooth. The stand it comes with is premium as well. I work in graphics and presentations for business. It’s important we have color-accurate monitors to prevent things we think are navy from printing out purple and whatnot. This works beautifully. It is plug-and-play essentially. The directions are simple (although these dudes are heavy and awkward to hold if you’re a smaller person, so be ready for that) and it goes up pretty simply. I did have issues with getting it to connect but those were issues with the LAPTOP and not the MONITOR. *THE MONITOR WORKED GREAT* my laptop sucked. Once plugged in properly, you can use the handy dandy buttons on the bottom right to navigate to the correct input channel and boom. The blinding image quality of a thousand suns beaming directly into your retinas. Beautiful. (You can adjust the brightness in the monitor settings using the buttons in the bottom right if you want to keep your retinas.) The size is nothing to sneeze at either. Look, I like having multiple screens, but I basically just use this one now (my laptop screen serves to keep outlook open and basically nothing else). I need these dudes to put one of their screens on a Wacom… my pen display tablet looks so Blegh in comparison. I did purchase a monitor arm with the intent of putting this on there. The display mounted to that effortlessly. I hated the monitor arm. It was so bulky and awkward and weird. Put this thing back on the stand it came with and I loved it so much better. It rotates, tilts, moves up and down and whatnot easily but sticks exactly where you put it when you leave it. There’s also a good little spot for running all your cords through to manage them so you have less electrical spaghetti on your plate. 10/10 no notes, standing ovation ... show more

  • Excellent monitor! Excellent monitor!
Style: 27" 4K USB-C 96W Mac
Excellent monitor. I do semi professional video and picture editing and I must say that I did not realize what I was missing by not having this monitor all these years. It is a great size. It doesnt feel overwhelming to view up close for hours on end. Im not a big fan of the button control, but thats honestly for any monitor. I prefer a remote. The picture is great for editing video and pics. You really see the true color saturations. This can be used as a gaming monitor as well, but its better suited for editing. It looks great for games of course, but dont expect any high refresh rates for call of duty. This monitor is only 60hz, which is all you need for editing. The control button menu is good and easy to navigate. The brightness is good and you have many different temps to choose from. I didnt adjust anything and left it all factory out of the box. I really cant find much wrong with this monitor. it suits my needs perfectly. Good buy! ... show more

  • Great Monitor, Great Price
Style: 27" 4K USB-C 96W Mac
Great product, as you might expect from ASUS. Plugged right in, fired right up. Several digital video inputs on the back, including 2x HDMI, DisplayPort In and Out and USB-C. Bright. Connected up with full 4K resolution on the first boot.

  • Beautifully colorful
Style: 27" 4K USB-C 96W Mac
Coming from an older, 4K Dell Ultrasharp with a slightly wider than sRGB color gamut this monitor is a real treat for photo editing. Overall the appearance is nice although I would have preferred the buttons be on the bottom or back of the monitor rather than on the front. I have it mounted on an Ergotron arm so I can’t speak to the quality of the base. The matte finish on the screen is quite good with minimal impact to resolution and no sparkle, unlike my Dell monitor. The on-screen menus are well laid out and easy to use. The USB C connection with my M2 Max MacBook Pro works flawlessly with both video and charging. On to the monitor performance… In a completely dark room with a black screen there is only the slightest amount of light leakage left of center on the screen, something which isn’t noticed in regular usage and I’m sure varies by monitor. A completely gray screen has an ever so slight no uniform red/green color cast which is just barely visible if you’re critically observing the monitor. Again, this is highly unlikely to be noticed in regular usage. There is no DSE observed, white uniformity looks great, as does all the color uniformities I’ve observed. Luminance uniformity was under 8% across the screen with a slight hot-spot in the center and excellent uniformity along the edges. Color calibration with the ColorChecker Display Plus yielded great results, an average delta E of 0.4 with a max delta E of 1.6. When running the ColorChecker software I found that trying to balance the RGB intensity and contrast yielded bizarre results and both are better left at their default levels. I keep the monitor dim (60 nits) to best match my prints and I’m sure this somewhat impedes the full color gamut potential of this monitor but it was still pretty close to the 99% AdobeRGB and 99% DCI-P3 advertised. Compared to other wide gamut 27” monitors I’d say this is quite a good value. You can very easily pay much more money for monitor with equivalent or worse specs. Now this might not meet the needs of a professional photographer or graphic artist but for any hobbyist or enthusiast looking for a wide gamut at a reasonable price, this monitor should work quite well. ... show more

  • Defective from time of sale, and ASUS customer service dodging warranty repair/replacement
Style: 27" 4K USB-C 96W Mac
This item was defective from the get-go. The USB-C that's meant to charge my laptop while also delivering visual to the display never worked consistently. Within a few months it went from failing periodically to failing consistently. I would have to wiggle the cable until it was just so to get a connection, and then heaven forbid I accidentally nudge my laptop or need to reposition the display, as it would mean starting the whole process over. Now, it never detects the laptop without all of this nonsense (and the ports are all on the back, making it that much harder). Tested it this morning, and it turns out it's not just the USB-C port: it's -all- of the ports. So there's no way to make it work reliably - and at this point, pretty much at all. It supposedly came with a warranty. Asus said over the phone they would ship me a replacement if I would authorize a hold for $100 to be refunded when they received my defective unit shipped back to them. But then they sent me a text message saying they had "forgotten" to collect my email over the phone to begin the paperwork. Once I supplied it, they sent over an invoice for $472.97: more than the original cost of the display. When I told them the hold was supposed to have been $100 according to the original representative, they denied it. Also, different representatives would respond to the case without any explanation for the handoff and without replying to previous emails--defeating threading in what felt like a very intentional effort to make the conversation hard enough to track and manage that I would give up or forget the facts. I thought I had done my research when I made this purchase: others seemed very happy with the display. I had not, however, researched their customer service or more specifically, their warranty service. Apparently they are notorious for this sort of thing. Others have reported that when they have requested a warranty repair, ASUS has responded with charges near the cost of their device for issues they didn't have originally or request service for. ... show more

  • Perfect dual monitor setup Perfect dual monitor setup
Style: 27" 4K USB-C 96W Mac
I was so happy with the first one I bought two of them for a film editing setup. Great color. Solid brightness at 415 nits. Text looks great. I moved down to 27" from 32" and am very happy that I did. Having two 32" monitors is just too much to deal with, and the text doesn't look good to my eyes. Having two of these is perfect. Thought 5K would be the way to go but these are more than good enough. ... show more

  • ASUS ProArt monitor lives up to its name
Style: 27" 4K USB-C 96W Mac
In the ever-changing world of large 27" monitors, this is a good one from ASUS, one of the best display manufacturers. I use it paired with another 27" monitor driven by a Mac Mini M4 Pro. The colors are rich, pixels are sharp with a solid mounting system.
