    • Badly designed keyboard layout
The keyboard appears to have been designed by a landscape designer trying to squeeze in as many keys as possible. The shift key and return keys have been shrunk to accomodate this. Part of the return key is just half the width of a regular key. This is apparently in the name of introducing other keys that most people don't need. Several of these new keys are duplicated on different parts of the keyboard. For some that might have been useful, the default value is unexpected compared to what the key indicates. If you are a hunt and peck user who looks at each key before typing, you might be OK with this. But if you are accustomed to typing fast and furious, it is may be a headache trying to adjust to its quirky layout. It is quite difficult to hit the newly downsized essential keys without inadvertently hitting something else. Popups start flying up on the screen when one is trying to type the contents of an email. I have had this for a couple of weeks now, and I am still hitting keys that I don't want. If the goal was to make things faster, it is an epic fail -- it does not take into account how keyboards are used. The time taken to fix errors caused by the new keyboard more than offsets the ability to specify weird rarely-used characters in a hurry (and maybe not even then, as one has to figure which combination of meta keys one needs to get to them) Update: I went looking for a new computer to replace this one, due to its funky keyboard. This time I was careful to check the image of the keyboards. However... I now see that the image for this model shows a conventional keyboard. I found Asus laptops as well as Chromebooks to work very well. But my only issue is the description says cones with protective sleeve. My package came with no such product. And for that alone I'll give it 2 stars.

    • THERMAL THROTTLING AFTER 3 MINS.
I bought it "refurbished" and within 3 minutes of turning it on it was lagging so much and would eventually shut off after 5 minutes because of it thermally throttling. I ended up taking it apart and re-pasted the cpu to see if that would help but it didn't do anything at all. Too bad too, because the screen looked very good from the 3+ minutes I saw of it. Just returned it and bought a different one ... show more
