  • Excellent Semi-Budget 1440p 155hz Monitor
Style: 27" QHD 165Hz G-SYNC
Ordered VG27AQ a few weeks prior and have had zero issues with the screen so far after initial calibration/setup. Zero dead/stuck/bright pixels, lucky! For an IPS screen, it's great to look at (and extremely bright, you can use the monitor at 0 brightness and still see the picture quite well- most of the calibration profiles I've seen leave it at 0). You can see it from all angles very clearly and even from far back. I sit relatively close to the screen with my desk setup, but it's exactly what I wanted as I can only have one monitor on the desk. I have only noticed a little bit of backlight bleed in the lower right corner, but it's a very small area and overall quite acceptable for an IPS screen with such a thin bezel. Have not noticed any IPS glow when sitting dead center or even slightly off (as a note, there is always variation with manufacturing, so some monitors might have either more than mine). I have used it to play both PC and Switch, and it works great for both, no complaints (the speakers are indeed a little weak, but they are only 2 watt and more for function than real use and at least it has speakers to do so). The only unfortunate part in my temporary setup is that the MSI laptop I'm using (GS65 Stealth with RTX 2060) combined I suggest/recommend expecting to just use fullscreen settings with games on the Asus (I suspect it's more the laptop than the screen, once I build my new desktop I will confirm if this is still the case with a desktop 1070). The refresh rate is excellent, one of my older screens is an old 1080p Dell VA panel from around 2014 and the refresh rate is around 7ms so I would sometimes miss quick reaction mechanics in some games despite the nice screen quality otherwise with what it offered. I had zero build quality issues on my Asus, everything in the box looked to be in order and all included hardware was perfect and complete. For the price and what the monitor brings, it is definitely a good value as long as there aren't any pixel or manufacturing issues. There are better monitors with picture quality, but usually those are VA panels which have their own set of characteristics and a 3 year warranty (the comparable LG 27GL850 only has a 1 year warranty which is short when compared to their competitors like Asus and Acer). ... show more

  • Awesome 2k monitor
Style: 27" QHD 165Hz G-SYNC
I’ve been using this ASUS 27-inch 2K monitor for a while now, and I’m really impressed. The picture is super sharp, and the colors look vibrant without feeling over-saturated. The thin bezels make it look clean and modern on my desk, and it doesn’t take up too much space. Games feel smooth and responsive, with no noticeable lag or blurring. Honestly, it’s been great for both work and gaming, and I feel like I got my money’s worth. ... show more

  • ncredible Visuals and Smooth Performance — A Gamer’s Dream
Style: 27" QHD 165Hz G-SYNC
This ASUS TUF 27" 2K monitor is an absolute beast for gaming. The 2560x1440 resolution strikes the perfect balance between sharp visuals and high frame rates, and the HDR support really brings colors and lighting to life. Games look vibrant, crisp, and incredibly immersive. The 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make gameplay buttery smooth — whether I’m playing FPS titles or open-world adventures, there’s zero ghosting or screen tearing (especially with G-Sync/FreeSync enabled). It makes a noticeable difference in both competitiveness and overall enjoyment. Build quality is excellent, with a sturdy stand, adjustable height, and thin bezels for a sleek setup. The on-screen display is easy to navigate, and it has plenty of input options for PC, console, or work use. Whether you're a casual gamer or a serious competitor, this monitor delivers stunning visuals and top-tier performance. Easily one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my setup. ... show more

  • Tis great.
Style: 27" QHD 165Hz G-SYNC
So far it's great. Got it all set up and tweaked the HDR. It's basic HDR, but it looks really nice compared to my old AOC 75hz 1080p monitor which is now my second screen. If no updates appear here down the line, then I haven't had any dead pixels or problems.

  • VG27AQ 27”. Decent but probably not worth the price of $429 (tax not included)
Style: 27" QHD 165Hz G-SYNC
This is actually my first mid range monitor for gaming so I don't have much to say except a few things. This is my 1-month review. If you think you stomach the criticisms I make in this review, the go ahead and buy one. The whole review is 95% negative but I still like this monitor after I solved all of the issues I mention below. Backlight bleed mostly around the corner; very noticeable even if the room is fairly bright. But it's not too terrible to upset me (I use monitor mostly in dark room environment). Love the adjustable height stand. Installing the stand is very simple. Plastic but feel very tough and durable. I extremely hate the position of the ports. In my unique situation, my desk has limited height issue. So it's very tough when I need to plug and unplug the cable. It's best to put the port to be plugged on the side of the monitor, not at the near bottom. Port: - Buy an amazon basic hdmi cable. The provided hdmi cable often lost connection which caused me to go through plug and unplug nightmare. Can't seem to blindly plug in even if I determine the correct side. - I do not know if this is cable issue or the monitor itself, but I experience brief 1-3s black screen with amazon basic hdmi cable sometimes. Still better than the provided Asus hdmi cable which causes blackscreen very often and whose solution is to unplug and plug. - If you wonder whether to go for HDMI 2.0 or display port 1.2. I'll go with the hdmi unless you want 155Hz instead of 144Hz (stated in the manual). Also, if you want to turn on HDR and not bothered with stuff like ELMB and overlock, go for hdmi port. Image quality: overall, good for my eyes. A reminder that, if HDR is on, you can't adjust brightness on OSD, and some Image setting like Over Clocking, Sharpness, VividPixel, ELMB Sync. Brightness: 0 brightness is still too bright. Extremely bad if I use it for ps4 at night in dark room because there's no way to reduce brightness further. Warm color setting from OSD barely turns the color warmer. Solution: PC - I use a software to adjust brightness and warm color; Console / PS4 - I manually configure RGB to make it more red and save 2 settings: 1 for non-dark room and 1 for dark room environment. After image / blur issue: moving objects in ps4 has weird after image color, mouse, smooth scrolling. Turn the Trace Free (Image -> More -> Trace Free) to 0. That thing is like a bug but labeled as feature. Sound is a bit below average for me, non-audiophile. I use Logitech Z130 as speaker. Or my gaming laptop speaker sound a lot better. Personally, I prefer it doesn't have speaker at all to cut some cost. This is literally Asus makes customers purchase something they never use. This is a gaming monitor, not office monitor; so Asus either make great speaker or nothing at all. ... show more
