This is one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had with a board game. The game can be played with 1-6 players, but I think we found the sweet spot with 2. You start out choosing which side of the board to play on, and which side of the river to build on (You'll eventually be able to cross the river). You put down your house and a few surrounding items. The game is 10 years of play, each year is 12 turns. So with 6 players, each person would only take 2 turns per year. With 2, we each took 6 turns per year. During a turn, you will draw a card which gives you some sort of story event, and then take an action, which is anything you have unlocked. You pretty quickly realize you don't have time to focus on everything, so you need to pick and choose. There is so much excellent variety in terms of events and stories that keep the adventure moving. I included a photo of progress after year one, which hopefully doesn't contain many spoilers but gives a sense of what the game looks like. Your choices have consequences down the road, and the sense of progress is awesome as you watch your village expand. Eventually, you get some goals to work toward, which determine which ending you get. There are 5 endings- 1 best ending, 3 middle endings, and 1 worst ending. The game includes enough materials to play twice (once on each side of the board). There are a handful of choices where if you make one choice once, the other choice is your only option the second time around. I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a cozy adventure. It took about 8 hours for us to play through all 10 years. The only complaint I have is it really leaves you wanting more! I really hope the success of this game leads to a big box, legacy style game akin to Gloomhaven, but with this game's cozy, charming theme.     • Fun for a young family
A great legacy game for a young family. Our young kids are it up. Some frustration at the randomness, making the wrong arbitrary choice can set you back or close off a whole storyline, but overall this is an approachable, cooperative legacy game for a family.

    • A Remarkable Achievement
I’ve been playing this all day solo and it’s one of the best board gaming experiences that I’ve ever had. And I’ve played close to 1000 board games of varying weights. And this is just FUN! It’s relaxing and has some fun twists and surprises. It’s not overly complex and doesn’t have to be for a joyful experience. It gives the player agency to be creative and explore the narrative of the game. While I’m doing a solo run the first time I can see this being perfect for couples and families to enjoy together. If you always want competitive games then this isn’t for you. But if you that “just one more turn” feel you may get from a video game then this is your jam. You’ll get 20 sessions in total out of it which is plenty for me. I can see myself buying another copy in a few months to see if I can try out some different options that I will certainly miss this time around. There’s a lot of game play here to explore despite being a legacy game. I hope they try some other themes in the future. Maybe more stickers and a larger game board for an epic experience? If this game isn’t a huge hit I will be very surprised. This is the kind of game you buy your non gamer friends and family. Get them off their phone and experience this gem. More fun than you'd expect. You get to make decisions that effect you throughout the game, some skill, some luck. The stickers are cute and apply to the board giving a seamless look. Even though you only get 2 play through this game is absolutely worth it

    • Amazing solo or with partner or family
I was very surprised at how much we love this game. I originally bought for myself to play and then at the last moment decided to play with my partner. It's made an amazing date night and I can see this being amazing as a family game night game. It's cozy and a fun story.

If you want a lowkey fun game that has all the pleasure of constantly putting stickers on things and changing the game, with friends or family, this is it. Cozy is the word. We lit a fire and played. Definitely the vibe. Family members were making fun of me for making them play this but by the end of the first year, there was enough intrigue where they were curious to want to know what happens next.
