Given the manufacturing country region is the Norm forever, even if the USA tried to bring manufacturing back to the country, I have no doubt it would register as worst in the world at this point & much more expensive; that said still no expectations that these shoes will last past 2 years before holes start opening up. But most important are that they fit my big feet and comfortable. My GT-2000s, same sized 14s felt smaller but also comfortable, for what it was only lasted 2 years before holes just above my big toes started to form & the insoles had identical gapping holes under the feet soles. So no positive expectations with these. The two shoes are very similar in fabric & build though the “Gel-Venture 9” (‘Left’ in photo) was around $65 & my “GT-2000”s (‘Right’ in photo) were well over $150. Regardless will stay a dedicated “Asics” buyer.

They fit quite comfortably and do their job very well. Pictures show the view from the top and from the soles. Provides good grip and hopefully the soles will not wear as quickly as those on the "running" shoes as the road surface is far more demanding than grass or track surfaces. I am quite happy with my selection.

I like these shoes, but they are surprisingly stiff at first. A little bit hard. You have to break them in a little bit longer time than usual. If you to do a lot of walking/running right out of the box you will regret it. Actual foot pain! You have been warned! But once they are FULLY broken in you will enjoy this purchase more with no issues. Also, they do seem to be sized correctly. No need to go up or down a half size from whatever your normally wear. (I’m a men’s size 10) 4 stars - I took off one star because of the extra stiffness that I described.

I've been wearing asics for over a decade. I've tied other shoes, my last were $180 pair of Brooks, but they were junk. I've tried NB and didn't fit right. Everytime I try a different shoe I always regret it and come back to Asics. These are fantastic except the shoe lace eyelet are "webbed". By that I mean sewn on cloth, see product pics. These are a failure point and rarely last more than 8 months, but it's a good 8 months. Get rid of the cloth webbed lace eyelets Asics!.

Teenaged son is tall with extra wide size 15 feet. Difficult to find a shoe he likes that fit well in the arch and the shoe counter- these fit the bill! He is super fussy about his sneakers but these he is happy with - two years in a row. PLEASE offer them in larger sizes....he is not finished growing yet!

I wear a 12 in every shoe. Last ASICS similar the these I had to return the 12-too small in toe. I ordered 12.5 in these, and they fit perfectly with socks on. They’re light and comfortable like every other ASICS I’ve had for over 12 years now. These have a fairly wide area starting at “balls” of feet.

It seemed that Asics got worse with the gel venture 8 but then improved the quality once again with the gel venture 9 ( like they did from g.v. 6 to g.v. 7's)!! So If they make a gel venture 10 will it get worse again? My advice is if you find a gel venture you like then it's best to purchase 2 or 3 pairs of them because they still only last about 6 months max before the heel gel starts to wear out!! I also purchase oval shoe laces from amazon or ebay to replace the laces that come with them!!
