I have a 6 month old pair of Gel V 8s, in 10.5 x-wide that I was too lazy to send back (they fit OK, but JUST ONE 9f my big toes felt a tiny bit uncomfortable touching the inside.) I took some online advice and once they got pretty worn out I tried a size up, but normal width.... I normally wear a 10.5 and these 11s fit perfectly. The surprise- I bought the Black/Orange and was surprise to see the fabric inserts(like on top of the toe box) is actually a deep navy blue. I like it! I wish maybe Asics had a little bit more arch, but overall I love them. Cool in the AZ summers, and the tread is aggressive and wears very well. I recommend ordering 1/2 size larger than you usually wear. Apparently this is customary for running shoes 🤷♂️

I bought these as a general use, everyday shoe. They are comfy, but not quite as "walking on a cloud" comfy as my Asics Gel Nimbus 23s... But those shoes are 3X the price. So far I have walked 40-50 miles in them, and other than a bit of first-day soreness while breaking them in, they have been great. Since these are "trail running" shoes, they have a chunkier, grippier tread than typical road-running shoes or cross-trainers. This makes them a good choice for hiking and, hopefully, winter/snow walking/running. I've done two hikes in then so far, including Angel's Landing in Zion National Park, and they had great traction and gave me good confidence walking on rock, sand, gravel, etc. I've also done a few miles of road-running in them, and they worked fine. They are true to size. I normally wear 10.5, so that's what I bought. Conventional wisdom is to size up by a half size for dedicated running shoes, which I did for my Asics Gel Nimbus 23s, and that worked out great for those shoes. But for these Gel Venture 8s, my normal size fits great and my toes are not cramped at all under normal use. They did get a little jammed into the front on the long, steep, descent from the top of Angel's Landing, but I think any shoe or boot would have been similar. Even when I went road-running in them, they did not feel cramped in the toe. So, order your normal size.

I purchased these shoes based on the stellar reviews as I don't typically like to purchase shoes online because I'm sketchy on how they would fit or feel. The order shipped fast and arrived 2 days early and in perfect condition. The second I tried them on I knew in made the right choice. I've never in my life had a pair of shoes fit so comfortably right out of the box, typically I have to wear them in a bit. These shoes however fit like a dream. I am on my feet over 8 hours a day and they are by far the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I could not be happy and will buy these again.

Some of the more comfortable shoes that I've worn in the last decade. I like them much better than the competing shoes I've had of the "swoosh" brand. I like the profile of the tread on the sole, they grip well to all surfaces I'm usually on - indoors, road surfaces, gravel, loose dirt, rocks and boulders, you name it. They're a good buy, too - when I purchased, they were half the cost of other competing name brands.

Asics are my go-to shoes for style and comfort. Like most mesh joggers, these Gel Venture 8's are not particularly stylish, but they are well padded, light weight and comfortable. A great value if under $50. I wear a 10M and these were a little tight in the front. I reordered a 10.5 hightop version and the fit was perfect. Also, the I think the hightops look a little better.

I’ve had the 120 dollar pair and if you have the extra money, I said go for the good shoes. But for those on a budget, these shoes are still pretty awesome. The fit is perfect cushioning is perfect and they are black black so they should stay clean longer then my took white pair.

So for starters this is not quite what I expected from the venture line, it’s a lot lighter in the sole and material. That said it is a lot cheaper and I suspect they have a more expensive shoe that now fills that role. my last pair of running/workout shoes was the venture 5. I immediately fell in love not only because I found my rareish size, 12.5, but because of the overall quality and feel of the shoe. The were more expensive than these venture 8s but they were more sturdy, the soles had more bounce and they were much more suited for the trails. I used them for 2 years even wearing them to work on occasion. Usually more expensive gym shoes last less than a year and I trash work boots at my factory job in 6 months. The venture 5s were without exaggeration the best shoe I ever had… These venture 8s as previously mentioned are lighter weight which is ostensibly better, as the 5s weren’t the lightest shoe, but the new shoe lacks in support, grip, and bounce. I like these shoes still they’re very comfortable and good for road running and gym training, but I might have to get something a little more sturdy like the trail excite or something.. so I gave them 4 stars because they didn’t meet my expectations but they’re good shoes still and if I could have gave them a 4.5 I probably would have

They are great for the gym. I wear them 6 days a week. The only thing I would say is they are not great for running. ASIC make other great running shoes but these are lacking a little bit of cushion and support for running.
