Seems to be a good shoe for the price. Needed more durable-rubber soles compared to the Dedicate 8. Also, improved ankle and arch supports. Have the same soles as the much-higher priced Resolution 9s. Good room for toes, while may be too narrow for some in the middle.     • Less gel than before?
They fit fine, but they feel like they have less gel than previous models. I really rely on a real gel sole, I have a bad knee and gel makes a huge difference to me. These are ok. The old Gel Domain 2's were a miracle. I wish they'd bring something like that back.

I am very confident in ASICS and own a variety of their tennis shoes, so I was surprised by the fit and their choice of materials for this shoe. Tennis shoes only have to fit comfortably, breath and provide solid active support. This shoe was tight over the top of my foot. The material ASICS chose for the upper appears to be plastic, similar to that used on other models, but the entire upper is uniformly molded of the same material. There are only side vents, with no venting mesh over the top, so I expect this shoe to be hot. The larger problem is the way the upper creases when you flex the toe. Since there is no mesh to allow flexibility, all of the creasing takes place in two areas. After walking across the room to check comfort, the creasing had already made wrinkles in the plastic material. It wouldn't take many tennis games to crack along these creases.
