  • Works just fine easy to install
Works just fine easy to install and instructions were clear. Installed an aftermarket double din radio into a Ford Fusion. This fit just fine, no major issues. Following the instructions I had to cut some of the tabs off. As unsettling as this might be and contrary to my natural instincts of more is better. I opted to follow the instructions and much to my dismay everything came out just fine. I used the screws that came with my radio and reused the mounting screws for the dash. The screws that came with this kit did not fit my application. Very sturdy and good fit. ... show more

  • Easy and complete kit
The kit included everything I needed for installation of a double din unit in my 2009 F350. The wiring harness was the correct one and the antenna adapter was also included. Everything snapped together properly. It is a universal kit so some of the tabs I didn't need were removed but they just snapped or cut off with wire cutters easily. It fit perfectly and even included alignment tabs for my dash to help me get it in place when I bolted it back up. This kit made installation a quick project. ... show more

  • Installation by means of Demolition
This kit worked perfectly for my needs. I installed this into a '05 F150 housing the Atoto A6 double din head unit. I gave this a 4 star rating because it's not exactly plug and play. The instructions were pretty clear as to which modifications plans should be followed but it took some tools and faith to break away all the parts required prior to assembly. If you can get over the fear of breaking the rails, get yourself some thick gloves, safety goggles and a good pair of pliers and whittle away. I didn't use the gloves or goggles but I just a stupid man so what can I say? I ended up breaking out the dremel drill to hone the fit to my head unit which was far too tight initially. Dealing with modeled plastic for various things, I expected this and you shouldn't be surprise that some modification is always required if you want things to fit right. ... show more

  • Well engineered to be cheap and affordable
Worked well on my installation for a 2006 F250. It is very flimsy and feels cheap, but once installed it does its job. I'm not knocking the product, just confirming that it will work once installed. The kit covers several vehicles and is well worth the price.

  • More complete than the others but......
I have a 2007 Lincoln Mark LT. The factory main harness already has Reverse, VSS, and Steering wheel controls in it, The Metra is barely enough to get basic stereo function and nothing else, Scosche the same way. This one at least adds some of those but not all. I wound up taking this harness and removing pins and wires from the Metra to fill this out leaving only the parking brake to worry about. Also, the middle sized connector which is not in any of these kits, has the aux input from the 1/8" jack up on the dash tray. I managed to come up with that connector from a completely different kit than any made for these trucks. The shortest way to get to the parking brake wire is the upper left connector on the instrument panel. The parking brake ground goes directly from the pedal to the instrument panel with no other path, it's very easy to get the shroud off around the instrument cluster, once here you can see the factory GPS antenna if you have one, I was able to get an adapter between the alpine and that antenna but now that I see it, it would be really easy to puts Alpine's in the same spot, more so if you do not have one to begin with. Sure beats plopping one on top of your dash since the factory made a designated spot for it out of sight. The same connector for the parking brake also has your + and - CAN Bus lines in it. I am bugging iData about this since even in the mid 2000s, the CAN bus was already ten years old and system data can be had from it which I already did on a laptop and an android phone, my Alpine says it's only compatible with iData products. Most of the features on the Maestro I do not need since it is geared to climate control and everything else built into the later model radios whereas anything this ASC connector will plug into has separate climate control panel and all that. I just want the CAN bus so I can see engine data, tire pressures, intake temperature and all other sensors, the steering wheel controls are part of Maestro but there are a few different ways to get only that, Axxess being one of them. It is worth mentioning that there is a backlight pin in the factory connector which the ASC provides and a second ignition wire that only powers during start, not in run. This one is excluded. It is also worth mentioning that some head units do not use the backlight wire at all for dimming, my Alpine X208U dims and changes the Map color automatically by ambient light. The ASC also came with the radio antenna adapter eliminating the need to buy that separately. I had Amazon deliver this to my hotel room on a recent trip for just this adapter for the remainder of the trip, when I got home I took the metra connector out and cannibalized it to fill in the missing pins of the ASC. The whole way down I streamed internet Radio and occasionally played lossless files from my phone connected by USB and using Android Auto instead of BlueTooth. There were a few dead spots from Everett Washington to Southern Cal, mainly in Oregon in a few places so you will really appreciate the antenna adapter. You never know what kind of unique broadcasts you run into in some places way out of reach from major cities. Get the ASC, it's the closest you will come to complete of the three brands. I gave it three stars due to the better than the others but still incomplete harness. ... show more

  • Great for '07 Mustang - Looks Factory Easy Wiring
I was looking to put a double DIN touch screen entertainment system in my 2007 Mustang and needed a kit. This worked very well. The dash kit looks AMAZING. I wish the wiring harness had instructions because I had a hard time finding the dash light wire. One note: If, like me, your car has a Shaker 500 or 1000 subwoofer amp, you will need the 12v to 5v Axxess Interface AFDI-5V Ford 12V to 5V Step Down to trigger the amp otherwise the 12v signal will result in an annoying popping sound when you turn on your stereo. For the wiring, I took the harness from the new Pioneer radio and simply matched up the colors. soldered them and insulated with heat shrink to the Metra harness. Then I simply plugged this in without having to cut or splice anything in the car. ... show more

  • Perfect fit
I used this to install a Pioneer in a 2008 Mustang GT. As you can see in the picture, it is a perfect fit. The wires in the harness were color coded and marked, so wiring was simple. I didn't even need a schematic, just matched color to color. This was my first attempt at installing an aftermarket stereo on my own, and this kit made it so simple that I can't believe I used to pay people to do it for me. I could not be more satisfied. ... show more
