I discovered raw cashew nut butter a few years ago and couldn't believe how expensive it has gotten! $15-17 for a 10oz jar is outrageous. This was the brand I used to buy at Nature's Grocers at only $11 per pound, I was sold. It was even smoother and creamier than the smaller jars at the store. I'm hooked and I can't recommend it enough. I can't give you a shelf life assessment since I split this with 3 people and went through it in 3 months! I will say it was just as smooth and creamy 3 months later as it was on day one. I'm ready to buy another 8lb bucket, just waiting for it to be in stock! UPDATE: Still in love with this Raw Cashew Nut Butter! I've tried other brands but they don't compare to the sweet creamy texture of Artisana. My last bucket did start to dry out just after 3 months. It's very dry in Colorado so my best option was to vacuum seal 2lbs at a time. Once I sealed half the bucket I stirred it very thoroughly, making sure to scrape all around the bottom ring of the bucket (where you might find dry spots). But now that the price has jumped to $106 from $88, you're better off buying the 14oz jars. ... show more

This is the best Cashew butter I've ever had and I've tried several (even some that are over $30 a jar). It is so smooth and so creamy. I eat this stuff by the spoonfuls. Mix in a little bit of dairy free mini chocolate chips for a yummy treat. Also great with an apple. Oh my goodness so YUMMY! Worth every penny! Sometimes you can purchase in a 2 pack at a better price. But even if that isn't available I still buy this stuff. Highly recommend! ... show more

    • BEWARE: SMALL EXPIRATION WINDOW

EDIT: I bought this for a 2nd time and am EXTREMELY disappointed. I have 6 jars that will expire in LESS THAN 5 MONTHS! Seller is unresponsive and there is no returns or replacements. You are RISKING $90 on something that will expire before you can finish it. What’s ludicrous is that I KNOW these have a better shelf life as the last jar from the 1st time I purchased expires NEXT YEAR. I will not be purchasing again and will take my $90 to a physical store instead. This stuff is hands down amazing as a creamy dairy substitute. We use it for sour cream (vinegar/lemon) and cheesy chipotle crema (chili sauce, lime, nooch, chipotle, water, and salt). It tastes good but as others have noted, there is a big air bubble in it so you don't get as much as you think you are. I won't reorder, it isn't worth it to me. Especially with the giant air bubble, I'm not actually sure I got all that I paid for.

I've had this butter before, and I really loved it. This time I got it, and the label looked very old. It was very worn. I don't care for the way it's sealed either. To me it's not much of a seal. When I "broke" the "seal," The jar was not all the way filled to the top. I should have called for an exchange/refund, but I did not. Well, if I get sick, I'll at least know what it's from, and I'd say the taste is worth getting sick over, but, no, it is not, no matter how great the flavor of it is. Who knows what could have been in it. So, that's why I gave it only three stars. I took a star off for the worn look of the label, and for the flimsy way it's sealed. I surely wouldn't do that again. ( Keep it when I wasn't pleased with the look or safety of the label or seal ) ... show more

I love cashew butter, but there's something about Artisana's that tastes damn good – it's creamy, fatty, and delicious. I cannot recommend this nut butter enough to you, and I hope you try it with something like a baked sweet potato or a banana. There's nothing quite so tasty as a cashew butter milkshake (two frozen bananas + 1/2 cup of almond milk + two tablespoons of cashew butter). EDIT –– UPDATED REVIEW –– It appears that less and less cashew butter is coming in each jar! What the heck, Artisana! Please put the regular amount of cashew butter back. This time, I actually asked for a replacement from Amazon because there was not enough cashew butter packaged inside. ... show more

I had been buying this product in the 16oz jars but decided to try this as it was a considerable savings. I was concerned about the shelf life when I bought it but when I received it, there was about 14 months of shelf life and I will easily use in that time frame. I had saved several of the 16oz jars and spoon the product from the 8lb bucket to the jars for normal use. I store the bucket in the basement. I have had the bucket several months now and there has been no change to taste. It requires some stirring every time I scoop out and I do need to use a long/sturdy serving spoon to do it.
