  • Rake
This rake is sturdy and well made, with an 18-inch wide head that covers a good amount of space each time you rake. The 62-inch handle gives extra reach and helps reduce bending, making yard work more comfortable. It works well on leaves, grass, and flower beds, and the metal design feels durable for regular outdoor use ... show more

  • Very sturdy
This garden rake is very sturdy. It feels solid and lightweight, making it easy to sweep leaves and debris off my lawn. The wide, fan‑shaped head covers a good area with each pass, and the long handle gives comfortable leverage, reducing back strain. The metal is corrosion‑resistant, so it should last through many seasons of outdoor use. Overall, a reliable tool for everyday yard cleanup. ... show more

  • Medium duty, thick tines do great with mulch and thatch
I've been an avid DIYer for 20 years, and am frequently burning through rakes. I was excited to try this ARTIPOLY Adjustable Leaf Rake due to the long handle (I'm tall) and coated metal. This has the thickest tines of any of my metal rakes -- most of my rakes have thin wiry tines. And while my plastic rakes have wider tines, this metal construction offers some advantages. First, this is called heavy duty but I consider it medium duty. The pole isn't as thick as I expected -- I can flex the walls with my fingers. And the tines are better than light duty but I still wouldn't call them heavy duty. The product detail page indicates the walls of the pole are 0.8mm thick, but they measure at the tip which is crimped/double walled. It's good to have the critical areas double walled, but the entire pole isn't that thick. When compared to my other tool handles (brooms, mops, etc), I suspect this is close to 0.4mm thick in most areas. There are 4 pole sections, but one of them is permanently attached to the rake. This is different than my other rakes, which have a threaded pole. All my other tools have interchangeable handles, and the pole can be removed for storage or travel. On this, only 3 of the 4 sections can be removed for storage. Also, importantly, mine was missing the bolts to attach the rake to the pole. Fortunately I had some spare bolts that fit. I confirmed the width at 18 inches wide (measuring at the widest point, using two rulers as confirmation). This makes it my narrowest rake. The tines are also short -- before the bend, they only measure 7.5 inches long, and only 1-7/8 inches off the ground. I found that each stroke holds a low volume of debris. However, I also found that because the thick tines catch more debris, each stroke is more efficient. So it's an even tradeoff. A standout feature are the wide tines -- I measure them at slightly under 7mm wide (slightly more than 0.25 inches), which are wide enough to grab smaller debris like small sticks. They also feel more durable and tight than my rakes with thinner tines, less likely to bend. And even though I thought that thinner tines would be better at digging deep into thatch, these thicker tines actually do a better job -- they can dig deeper because they're sturdier and the individual tines are less likely to flex and simply ride over the debris. Similarly, it does great with mulch. Another standout feature is the coated metal. It not only provides corrosion resistance, but also means I don't poke myself when handling it. It's lighter duty than expected, but I think it's a good value for someone like me who needs a versatile rake able to pick up mulch and thatch in addition to just leaves. ... show more

  • Compact 18 inch metal rake with sectional handle, solid build, but smaller head limits efficiency
The overall build is better than expected in some areas. The rake head is metal, not plastic, and has a decent weight to it. The handle sections are also sturdier than they look, and once assembled, the pole feels solid during use without much flex. One thing to be aware of is how this is described as “adjustable.” There is no telescoping or sliding mechanism. The handle is made of threaded sections, so changing the length means removing a section entirely. It can be shortened, but not fine-tuned to different heights. The rake head is on the smaller side at 18 inches wide, and the tines are short and closely spaced. It works, but it does not move a lot of material per pass. Covering even a modest yard takes more time compared to a wider rake. The shorter tines also limit how much you can gather in a single pull, especially with leaves. Because of that, this feels better suited for smaller areas like patios, flower beds, or very compact yards where control matters more than speed. For larger spaces, it is less efficient in practice. Overall, the materials are decent and it functions as expected, but the size and handle design make it more of a small-area tool than a general yard rake. ... show more

  • small head for tight areas and working in light brush
The back half of our property is wooded with oak trees. We purchased the property in December and the previous owner hadn't cleaned up any of the leaves that had fallen. Now that we are settled into the home, we decided it was time to tackle the back yard. The problem was that I didn't own a rake ( we came from the desert and didn't have any trees). This rake was easily assembled by using the two butterfly screws with caps. The handle pieces screw together quickly. I didn't think the handle was any larger than any other rake that I have owned but my husband, who is 6'2" said it was perfectly comfortable. The prongs area of the rake is smaller than what I am used to using, however, that worked in our favor as we were raking up leaves embedded in brush and were able to get into areas that a larger rake couldn't get into. We were also able to rake through a lot of the thinner brush without bending the tines. Once we raked out the majority of the leaves, we were able to pull out the brush and move loose rocks into a specific area. Then we were able to go back and use the rake to spread out of the dirt that had clumped up while we pulled out the brush. Now we have an area to put our new shed, on mostly level ground and a much cleaner yard for the dogs and grandkids to play in! ... show more
