  • This thing is genius. This thing is genius.
Size: Small 3-Layer System
So long story short... I had a Yorkie who lov d to be almost 18 and was actually still super spunky but her kidneys shut down. I just so happened to find a puppy that was conceived the same week I had to say goodbye. She is now 8 months old and potty training has been a struggle. She is smart and stubborn. We have been training her to go both on this grass potty pad and the grass outside and it is definitely helping. Her crate ( a.k.a. the puppy condo) stays clean now. Now we are just working on getting her to go in there and use it when she's running free while we are home. The reason though, I think finding this was a blessing is because because I'm older and wiser this go around and realize that a dog shouldn't have to hold their bladder as long as my previous little girl did. She was so good and never had accidents until she couldn't help it anymore. I was 16 years old and none the wiser about being away for too long. Now I have the comfort in knowing that my new pup will be able to do her thing whenever sh needs to once we get this perfected. ... show more

  • Our older dog will not use it
Size: Small 3-Layer System
I'm sure this product would work well for a puppy but our 11 year old mini dachshund doesn't understand what it is for. When it was new she loved laying on it. After I sprayed it with the stuff that is supposed to encourage the dog to urinate on it she stopped even laying on it. Our daughter followed her around in the yard to scoot the pad under the dog as she urinated but that didn't help either. We have now moved into a retirement center and I have it in the bathroom but the dog ignores it. I'm hoping when winter comes she might want to use it as she hates going out when it is cold outside. Update two years later: Patience has finally paid off. Out little dog has finally started using this pad. She was so afraid of fireworks last summer she hid in the bathroom. She tinkled due to fear so I spread towels to catch her accidents. Afterwards I kept one towel next to the turf mat and we noticed she was using the turf mat too. Yay!!! Now we keep a wee pad under the turf mat and change it when it shows yellow on the edge. She still likes to drag the towel around and we wash it daily or more often if needed, but she uses the turf too. I no longer fear her having accidents on the carpet because she likes using the turf mat and the towel. I wash the mat and tray in the shower as needed. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? They haven't met our dog.😉 ... show more

  • Lifesaver but smelly and hard to clean
Size: Small 3-Layer System
With any dog waste system, it’s going to be smelly. These saved me from taking my puppy out multiple times a day. He’s trained to go inside and outside. I put a puppy Pad under the grass and change it every three days or so. I bought the replacement and wash and dry the grass every week to two weeks. It’s impossible to forget because of the smell. Here’s how to wash: •Buy a kitchen scrub brush from Walmart/dollar tree. •put the pad In tub and rinse with shower head on highest setting until water is clear (Flipping front and back) •scrub pad Front and back in circles with dawn dish washing liquid •rinse on highest setting •plug tub and fill with bleach and dawn, grass side down. •let sit for 10+min (I’ve left mine for hours it’s fine) •release water and scrub a bit more front and back. •rinse •one more quick scrub with dawn + long rinse •lastly I hang them to dry using a pant clothes hanger, ya know, the kind with two clasps on each end. I hang them on the metal rail in my shower where they can drip and dry. The process takes about an hour each week but it is scentless afterwards. Been doing this for 3 months and my original pad is good as new and scentless after cleaning. Super annoying to change the puppy pad under the grass. If you pick it up, pee runs out because it doesn’t absorb well, even with a clean pad under it. My pup won’t use it if it has poo on it. I bought a mini brush and dust pan from dollar tree and use it to pick up his waste and dispose of it immediately. The hour it takes to clean this thing is so worth not having to pay for pads as often and not have to spend time going outside multiple times a day. It took him a few weeks to learn to use it. Definitely didn’t take to it quickly like other users say. Also, he frequently misses the pad and I have to clean under it, so put on tile only. ... show more

  • Puppy thought it was a toy
Size: Small 3-Layer System
I'm sure it would've worked, but unfortunately my puppy just wanted to rip all the fake grass out and try to eat it lol.

  • Dont bother
Size: Small 3-Layer System
I had high hopes for this product. We recently rescued a 2 month old miniature pinscher that had been starved, physically abused, and that had been left out so long that she had frostbite. Living in the midwest, there's no way we were going to start sending her outside to do her business until after she puts on some weight and heals from the frostbite, so we started out with puppy pads all over the house, which looks terrible. I thought that this product would be a great way to make her set up more fashionable. Unfortunately, this product did not live up to my hopes. We had no problem with getting her to use it - in fact, she used it right away. We even put the puppy pad under the grass to make clean-up easier. However, a few things went terribly wrong. First of all, the grass is absorbent. That doesn't sound like a bad thing, but that means that when we washed it after use, it stayed wet until the next time. Not to mention, as we picked up the grass to clean it, it dripped pee that it had absorbed. The one time that she used it twice before we had a chance to clean it, her little paws were damp with her own urine from the precious use. Sure, it looked nice, but it was already way more work to upkeep than a pad (which just requires folding up, throwing away, and throwing a new one down). The second problem that we had was with the smell. As I already pointed out, we were in the habit of cleaning it after each use, so it wasn't just sitting around soaking. But, after about three days, it had such a strong smell of stale urine that our company commented on it and moved to a further seat. I was mortified, especially considering that we had been washing it obsessively. That was when I finally decided that I would look into other options, and this thing went in the trash. Tl/Dr - Grass drips urine when cleaning, gets water/urine on puppy's paws, and smelled bad enough (even after cleaning) that we couldn't stand it and threw it away. ... show more

  • Make sure you pay attention to the size when ordering --- but nice product!!
Size: Small 3-Layer System
Make sure to pay attention to the size when you are ordering. I have a small dog, so the size I got works for her. But even though I KNEW the size, when I got it...I was still a little shocked that it looked so little. With that being said, I think that it's going to work well. It is exactly as pictured. My dog was a little hesitant at first about the grass, but I put her pee pad right next to it and a couple hours later she got on the grass and went poo. I was tickled and gave her lots of praise. Hope this will work better than just the pee pads - because my cat feels the need to try and "cover" the pads and then the dog can't use them...LOL (Animals...gotta love them!) ... show more

  • No pee pad! Yay
Size: Small 3-Layer System
Perfect for a small dog under under 15lbs. Easy to clean. My kids constantly kick it because they don't pay attention to the floor and it has never spilled out onto the floor

  • Stinky
Size: Small 3-Layer System
I wish I had read reviews. I got this for an older cat and even washing it daily it smells so bad. I even tried putting a puppy pad under it. With baking soda. Within 24 it had the same strong urine smell. She does go on it without a problem but I’m not sure what to do because it just stinks
