The lack of one star is because of the roller, which has the brand printed across it which stamps a black ARTEZA right into your work. It’s also not easily washable and colored clay stain it, and then transfer to other clays. Also, the little rake-like tool was bent out of shape and I’ve not been able to bend it back. One of the tines was so askew I ended up clipping it off. Otherwise, the set is a nice starter. I am working with sculpey clay making claymation and it’s been nice to have the tools. They’re sturdy so far, and I haven’t had any issues with the other tools. ... show more

I tested this set out with Monster Clay medium hardness. It's a great set if you're just starting out and need to get a feel for what you like, but it is definitely flimsy and not good for harder textures. The tools became more evidently flimsy as the clay started setting, and worked best when the clay was warm. In contrast, the sculpting tools I got from the actual Monster Clay website worked really well and had great stability. ... show more

I just began learning to sculpt and this set is exactly what I needed. I don't need a full set of high-end tools but I do need a comprehensive set that will allow me to try out as many different tools as is reasonably possible and this set is exactly that. As I continue to practice I'll undoubtedly learn that I reach for a small subset of the tools the majority of the time, and those are the tools I'll consider upgrading to more expensive 'pro' models. I do not care that it did not come with a carrying case or other pouch-type storage because I don't like sliding markers or small paint brushes in and out of pouches while I'm working, and I don't think I'd like doing that with sculpting tools, either. Storage is easy to find and most of it protects tools much better than a plastic pouch does. FIVE STARS! ... show more
