These are a way to measurably enjoy cold drinks colder. They drop to colder temperature quickly matching liquid temperature, say of running under cold tap water. They hold the temperature of ice water or iced beverages longer and colder than plastics or glass. That is my experience with the aluminum material for drink canisters to thermos or recreational home cup ware. One important detail more to note. The cups must be cleaned somewhat of the day you first use them. The difference I watched, was a cup I wash with daily use, promptly following beverage use, and other cups of the same set not washed after use the same day of use, approximately; resulted in a metal stain of brownish or pale coloration appeared on the silver appearance of the aluminum inside rings of brownish or pale coloration appeared. However, the cup I use consistently daily, is blemish free from discoloration, and no rings of discoloration. The metal did on best cup get a few dimples in the inside base. The metal if a bit of silverware is sharp points resting on it in the sink, the weight of a knife or fork resulted in solid inside base showing a small impressions of the point in the metal. It did not break the thickness, no leaks. Do not use for hot drinks, very credibly, it's fast response to temperature of fluid is very evident. I sometimes place one in another mug to sleeve the very fast chilled metal cup. That's for a ice with drink of choice, it's an upgrade for cold beverages. We love these aluminum cups for happy hour! We can sit out on the patio, not worry about glass breaking nor ugly plastic cups. They are light and attractive looking. They are very popular in Japan in restaurants and when we got back, we were really happy to discover them on Amazon. The only downside is they don’t do well in the dishwasher even though it says they are dishwasher safe. They keep their color much better if you hand wash them. ... show more

    • Don't use these unless you want your teeth to ache...
Do you like the feeling of metal in your mouth and an aching pain in your teeth? If you answered yes, then these aluminum cups are for you. I (stupidly) assumed these would be protected with a safe plastic lining or something. The first tip off that something was wrong was when I noticed that these cups can't be placed in a dishwasher. The next tip off was when our water tasted "metallic". We have an under-sink RO system that produces very good tasting water, so I knew it was the cups. The worst part was when my teeth started to ache after drinking from them for a few days. The pain stopped within a day or so after we stopped using them. Metal ions are very good at causing tooth pain (ever stick a fork on an amalgam filling?). I would have given zero stars, if that was an option. Whoever came up with these cups should have their head examined. Avoid them like the plague. ... show more
