  • Mixed Feelings
If you're built to actually want a slim fitting piece and you're actually a reasonable size to which you could actually be in combat, you will probably want to mutilate a sweatshirt or purchase armor padding/padded chest armor to wear underneath to allow a better fit, or if you are only concerned with looks ensure that you have a lot of tolerance for loose pieces and have a shirt which has a lot of volume. The armor is well polished, and can probably take some decent medium-strength hits without giving, even if there is nothing strong underneath it. I included a summary of my fitting experience below for those interested in a much more in depth analysis; The fit at the hips is EXACTLY 34in; I comfortably wear 30/34 jeans as a 6'4" male and the bottom barely fits around my waist. It can be bent to some extent in the back to fix this, but the bottom of the front plate is very rigid. I am still deciding after three hours of fitting whether to overlap the shoulder pieces (do not be deceived by any indication of strap length in the photo, you will not get more than an inch of gap between plates at the top) or leave the leather straps at the max length and let it sit. It rests above my hips or on my hips (depending on straps at the top), and if I sit it usually pops up at the top a bit if I do even the slightest slouch. (almost an inch though if resting on my hips). The armor can be bent a decent amount and does not seem to be terribly affected in durability or quality in doing this, allowing for some adjustment however the plates cannot overlap much and are not cut to perfectly fit together and the location of the straps does not allow for that nice snug fit. ... show more
