It's clean but with a fresh aquatic quality that lasts a long time in your clothes. I don't use the full "dose" and still have lasting freshness. We've tried all the Arm and Hammer scents and found that this one was our favorite. No chemical smell at all just a nice fresh smell that works nicely in our laundry. I love this brand anyways because it is clean and easy on the skin especially sensitive skin. I add about a half a cup of this into every wash, and the clothes smell so fresh and clean!
