  • Excellent Riding-Hiking Combo
Why did you pick this product vs others?: These boots are GOOD! Finally a well-designed riding boot that will fit under half chaps and that have enough grip to walk on semi-difficult terrain for a substantial amount of time. I took them straight out of the box to a week-long ride in New Zealand and they were comfortable and soft from the get go. I also rode on the mountains of Abruzzo, Italy on very difficult and extremely steep terrain that required to dismount and walk: that’s when I wished they had a bit more grip but of course it wouldn’t be ideal for the stirrups. Overall it’s a really good compromise between walking grip and stirrup comfort/safety. They are holding up okay to a lot of use. I will buy them again for sure ... show more

  • Good everyday boot for all occasions....ROOMY TOE BOX
I've been looking for a comfortable boot with plenty of wiggle room and specifically a roomy toe box. It's hard to find roomy toe boxes now so I'm happy to have found Ariat. I wear a size 9 and it's a nice fit with plenty of comfort and enough space for thicker socks if needed. Your regular size should be a perfect fit for these boots. There is not much tread on the bottom for snow weather, but perfect for any other activities. On regular pavement the tread is good and keeps you steady along the way. The leather is soft and no break in time is required, no blisters or chaffing. My first 5 mile walk was a dream. My dogs and I will happily enjoy these boots for many years to come. Perfect for those who love nature and getting outside to explore our beautiful world in comfort. ... show more

  • Great boot for lots of walking
Size: 6.5 Color: Distressed Brown/Brown Floral Emboss
I've worn this style of Ariat boots for years. They hold up well and are comfortable for lots of walking. This pair did not disappoint and the styling was really cute!

  • Mostly happy with these boots
They are comfortable and light, and I wear them for work (at a stable) and also have worn them while riding. Only complaint is that within 6 months of use (New England summer and fall) the part that bends when you walk is splitting open, and the waterproofing lasted for even less time. I would recommend getting extra boot waterproofer if you get these boots, and reapply regularly. Unfortunately that won't help when they start to crack, but for the most part they're a decent boot. If you're just doing hiking or light duty work, they'd probably be great, but the durability just isn't there for real daily use. I now don't wear them if it's raining or I have a horse to bathe because my feet WILL be wet despite my efforts. $20 tractor supply boots have gotten me further they just are heavier and harder on the feet. My coworker also has these and had the same cracking and waterproofing issue. We loved them for the first two or three months. ... show more

  • Solid, lightweight women's hiker
This is a nice little boot. I have trouble finding footwear - partly because I am very particular about what I want in a shoe, and partly because I have some pretty serious orthopedic issues that make it hard to find shoes that really work for me. These popped up in a "suggested" sidebar post in my social media one day, and I thought "why not? I like my Ariat cowboy boots, so I'll give them a try." That they were on a good sale was a bonus. Anyway, regardless of how I came to own them, let me tell you about the boots. 1) They are Ariat quality (and that's a good thing). Everything seems to be very well-made so far (I've only had them a few months). The sole is well-attached, the lace grommets are solid with no rough edges, and the overall construction is pleasing. 2) They look good. Let's face it, that's a factor. Some boots look like floppy clown shoes. Some look like they really wanted to be sneakers. These boots do neither. They are hiking boots with understated style. 3) They are lightweight and don't have any extra bulk. It seems like a lot of hikers are getting the "padded" treatment, leaving you with an odd, indescribable feeling... something between being wrapped in balloons and wearing a shoe box instead of an actual shoe. Not so with these Ariats. They are streamlined without being pointy, and close without being tight. 4) Along the same line, these Ariats seem to breathe much better than the last pair of "other" boots I purchased, even though those were labelled "breathable fabric" and these are honest leather. 5) If I had to make a complaint, it would be about the insole, which doesn't seem to offer much support. That said, they do offer much more support than most hikers I have tried lately, and a good deal of that problem is probably due to my freak-feet and their issues. It was a problem easily fixed by swapping out the insole for a custom orthotic with the arch support I need. There you have it. I would recommend these boots to anyone who needs a solid, dependable hiker. Yes, they are a little more expensive (so keep an eye out for sales), but they seem to be built to last. ... show more

  • Ariat is always a winner
Size: 7.5 Color: Java/Leopard Roses
Comfortable, easy to work and ride in. I do add a comfort insert for added padding. I would not recommend them for heavy mud or winter. They are true to size, but I bought mine a half size larger.

  • My second pair
I bought these for riding, I have been riding in tennis shoes for over twenty years and decided it was time for some proper footwear. I wanted something light and very comfortable. I ended up lov these so much that I started wearing my first pair for farm chores and they got pretty dirty but are also nice and broke in and so comfortable so I thought it was worth buying a second pair just for riding because I love them so much. I have high arches and fat feet and most shoes are uncomfortable. These rival my tennis shoes in comfort but keep my feet cleaner(no sand gets in them from the riding arena) and dryer (I can refill water tubs and give a horse a bath without getting wet feet). ... show more

  • made in china cheap cheap
WOW Ariat quality has tanked. Why I keep wasting my money buying these. Did not even have these shoes two months and the sole totally came apart from the shoe. I wear these for work (truck driver), not riding, hiking so I don't do anything ruff. I drive all day so these should have lasted a long time. I have had cheap walmart shoes last longer. This is what you get when a once classic cowboy trusted wear out sourse to china. CHEAP at an exorbitant price tag. ... show more
