These are perhaps the most comfortable boots I own. I wear western style boots almost daily as they are extremely practical and versatile. While I love all of my boots, I was tired of the leather being damaged by the rain and snow so I started the hunt for some water resistant boots. These boots have exceeded my expectations! I received them today in the midst of a sudden snowstorm and was able to put them to good use right away. Despite running around in the yard in the snow and wet grass with my dogs the They are extremely comfortable, have great traction, look nice and most importantly are water resistant. Are they expensive? That depends on your concept of expense when it comes to shoes. For my needs and wants I feel like the price is more than fair. I needed a sturdy, water resistant boot and I wanted one that was stylish and comfortable. The shipping was prompt. The boots were delivered in an Ariat box with all of the regular paperwork and tags you would find in a box from a shoe store. The Ariat box was wrapped in a typical plastic enveloping wrapping and was quite easy to open. I have attached a photo of what the boots look like in person. Amazing shoes for wide feet and long days of travel! Worn these on several week-long international trips with 20k+ steps. Never have to break them in and they are so comfortable through any terrain. Very comfy, true to size. I thought that for the price point these were a great value - Ariat always has great soles on their boots and these in particular had a nice leather upper. I got these because I wanted a boot I could wear to work and then to the barn. They have pretty good scuff resistance (no issues so far) and clean up well. ... show more

Color: Dark Brown Size: 7.5
Knocking off one star because the image severely misrepresented the color I ordered. I ordered “dark brown” which looks like medium-to-dark brown leather with same colored accents. I received very dark brown boots with medium reddish-brown (almost oxblood colored) accents and maroon color incorporated in the herringbone elastic panels. I confirmed that the Ariat website also misrepresented the color and confirmed that the box I received was labeled dark brown. Based on the images of the other color-ways for this shoe, there was no mixup (Java doesn’t have a herringbone panel, and olive is too green). The color is beautiful, just not what I thought I was purchasing. I mostly wear tennis shoes in size 8 regular, so I went a half size down and ordered a 7.5 — Good fit with cozy socks. The shoes do not have a lot of padding, but are shaped in a comfortable way and (for a boot) have a decent amount of flex. I recommend wearing taller socks, the collar of the boot was scraping my skin a bit. ... show more

    • Great boots that hold up to lots of walking and travel - Updated Dec. 2018

The more you wear these the more you love them! These boots are perfect travel boots. Easy to slip on and off at the airport and on planes when you need a solid boot that you can walk in all day in all weather. I wore these all over Korea in November in heavy ran and snow and my feet stayed dry. They are not a winter boot but even in wet snow and mid 20's my feet were warm. They also seem to breath even though they are waterproof on the lower part. I have worn them at least 3 to 4 days a week and they have aged well and always comfortable. They do loosen up a bit as you wear them but no major break in was needed and I have super tender feet. The best part is these work well as a nice casual boot that can hold up for miles of walking each day. They really saved me as a good travel boot and now an every day casual boot to wear with jeans. I would buy another pair but these seem like they will hold up for the long haul. ONE YEAR LATER: DEC. 2018 - I still love these boots and just wanted to check to make sure these were still available. My boots are holding up great but the thought of wearing them out one day makes me want to order another pair for the future. In the winter I wear good wool socks and in the summer, lighter weight socks. I've worn these from Asia to South Dakota, Texas to Tennessee. They work year round and clean up well, the bottom soles are holding up very well considering I wear them constantly. I hope Ariat keeps these in their line! ... show more

Bought these boots in the end of January. Wore them religiously to work (in retail) Feb, March, April and May. At first I loved the boots, the fit and color were what I was looking for. The price was a bit high but I still purchased them because I know ariat is a good brand and I buy all my jeans from them. But after about a month I noticed they weren’t as tight on my foot, they didn’t hold up well on the outside. If I was in construction, I could see why they weren’t holding up but, retail, they should have held up a little better. I think if you are looking for a stylish boot to wear casually, this is probably it. But as far as a work boot, I would say these don’t hold up well. But I love the look and style.
