  • Most lightweight yet solidly made comfortable boot you’ll ever own.
Size: 7.5 Color: Copper
These are my second pair in this style, the other styles don’t feel the same ( to me) I love the fit, they are lightweight, durable - they have seen me through rain, sleet ,snow and uneven terrain. They do not require a break in period. They are good to go right out of the box. I wear them just about every day. It’s the kind of shoe you hope they don’t stop manufacturing with the same quality materials and oversight. ... show more

Size: 11 Color: Cordovan
The media could not be loaded. These are some fantastic boots. Comfortable. Size 11, Roomy toe box, firm Support, and very good looking. The price is right, the arch support is excellent for My hi arches. They are waterproof but also breathable.

  • Nice boots, run a bit large
Size: 9 Color: Copper
These are decent, nice-looking boots. I was looking for something tough and waterproof for outdoor work-and hiking. As others have noted, they can run a bit large. I have a narrow heel, high arch, and wide toe area (duck foot). I got the 9B (normal shoe size is 9), and overall, it fit a bit roomier than I have been used to in past boots. This is a good thing for me, as it allows me to put some heavier socks and an orthotic on top of the insert, something I can't do with other hiking boots. And, it's nice to have good toe room so that I don't mash my toes into the boot toe when hiking downhill. I really like how comfortable these boots are, and they feel nicer the more I wear them. I do suspect that the boots that were shipped to me had been returned by a prior customer, as one of the molded toe supports (stuffed inside the toebox) was missing, and wadded tissue was used instead! And there were a few scuffs on the toes, which did wipe off. Not a big enough issue to be a deal-breaker though. ... show more

  • ... all day yet but I think they would be comfortable for all day wear
I haven't worn them all day yet but I think they would be comfortable for all day wear. They are perfect fit. I wear a 9 and I bought a 8.5 based on measuring my foot by their size chart and they are perfect. I think if you want to wear a thick sock you would need a 9. I wear light to mid weight socks. I don't like the heel platform but I see that without it there wouldn't be a good arch support unless you placed a arch support in the boot but with the heel platform it allows for a natural arch support feel. The width is good for a normal medium width foot. It you have a wide foot, you might need to go wider as even with the leather stretching it would take some time for the boot to stretch to a wider foot bed. I am not an expert on boots but these feel great so far and I can see myself wearing them for quite some time. I hope they hold up but if I have any problems with them down the line or if I find them to be superb I will update my post. I like the color (timber) berry pink. I wanted something that wasn't masculine looking but was functional for walking over rough terrain. The laces appear to tie and stay tied. The heel cup fits well without being snug and the cut out at the back of the boot keeps the boot from rubbing the back of my ankle. If you tie the ties too tight the boot hits when you bend your foot forward but it appears there will be a break in period for that portion of the boot but that is a problem I have with most hiking boots anyway, so it could just be me. The insoles seem to have quite a bit of give which is nice in a boot and for me is an issue as I have achy heels with most of my shoes/boots. Overall I am happy with my purchase. I am still trying to figure out why the same boot in a different colors is more or less in costs. It seems quite strange as it is the same boot. ... show more

  • After 10 pairs of boots, these won.
Size: 7 Color: Copper
Very pleased. I tried about 10 pairs of hiking boots/shoes and these far surpassed in quality and comfort. My feet felt "hugged" and supported the second I put these on. We do lots of rugged hiking (wettness and sand) so I appreciated the waterproof feature. I tested that by walking through deep puddles (feet stayed dry!) They broke in beautifully after wearing them on a couple walks. They don't look like they have great grip by looking at them but they actually had better grip than the more"spiky" bottomed Columbia's I tested. The longer the rubber spokes on the sole, the farther they bend and slide. The Ariats also have small grooves on the bottom so you don't have to dig big rocks out. They are waterproof so they are warmer than the ventilated type of shoe. Also I'm a 7.5 and traded the 38 (was a bit roomy) for the 37. My husband purchased the same boots for himself before we did the Half Dome hike in Yosemite National Park, a 16.5 mile, strenuous hike up steep slopes, by raging waterfalls, and through sandy flats. At the end of the 12 hour hike, our feet (and socks) were perfectly clean and dry. I had a blister on the back of each heel from all the steep inclines ( but I have knobby heals so no surprise there, there was no blistering during NORMAL all day wear) and my husband had one blister on a pinky toe. Our feet did NOT feel sore and achy! The boots were caked in sand so i cleaned and moisturized with Leather CPR because with all leather products, a little tlc once in a while and they'll be a lasting investment. *it should be noted that my husband suffered a bad ankle sprain 3 weeks before our hike. Wearing these boots along with taping his ankle, he made it the whole way with little discomfort! ... show more
