These are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Comfortable enough to wear while walking long distances and o have terrible feet! I wore them out into a muddy pasture to get a horse the other day, and though I slipped and slid a bit, the boots were never suction cupped off. They are also perfect for riding. I ride English and they fit into the stirrup perfectly. That said, they don’t fit the English riding aesthetic but I knew that when I bought them and don’t really care. I love the pull on/off feature because aside from ease of putting on and taking off, I know if I was to fall, the boot could fall off, limiting my risk of being dragged. They are waterproof which is going to come in handy once the infamous pnw dark wet winter takes full effect.I just love these boots! ... show more

Read a lot of great reviews on these boots, that they were good for staying dry, working in the dirt & mud & also good for riding. I've been wearing them around the house for now to be sure I like them, and so far so good. I wear a 10 wide & bought an 11 since these didn't come in wide widths. I must have a high arch because they were a bit hard to put on at first. With each time however they're loosening up and easier to put on and take off. Inside my foot has plenty of room. They're a little loose in the heel for me as I walk, but I haven't been wearing real thick socks yet either. The foot part of the boot are stiff and seem very rugged, but the shaft is a nice, thick, soft leather with plenty of room around the top. I plan to spray with a water sealant to help protect even though they are waterproof. And the pull tabs make putting them on much easier. I had bought a taller Dublin boot before these and returned them. Those were just too hard for me to put on and take off. So far I am very happy with this purchase :) ... show more

The soft uppers are comfortable riding or doing chores. Water proof, cute with a comp toe goes straight from mucking to the stirrup, everything I want in a boot. The arch felt a tad tight at first, but after and hour or so of wear the material broke in easily and the fit has been great. Sole is very comfortable, I've been teaching lessons in these and my feet survive the day in good shape. ... show more

First pair and first-day observation. I love the extremely comfortable fit. I wear 8.5 in dress shoes and I ordered a 9 that is perfect with socks. Easy on, easy off. There are no places that rub, nothing that can press against a stirrup or hobble strap to irritate ankles or calves. I can feel the side-to-side stability of the insert. It has designed-in support of the ankles and the insert that can be removed if you would like to put in a custom orthotic. I am really looking forward to riding in them and putting them to the waterproof test. The top of the shaft is extremely large. I am not sure what the reason is for such a wide top. Possibly it is so that nothing binds when you are climbing rough terrain. Even for a lady with muscular calves, they would be very spacious. When I took them out of the box I told my husband that these are the ugg boot style. These boots are no frills but totally make up for it in comfort. The one thing I do anticipate though is if you don't wear bell-bottom jeans (and I don't) over the top of them they will fill up with hay and other debris. We shall see. I have now worn these boots for 10 days of mountain horseback riding. I have bumped into uncountable objects, trees, vines, and other various brush while riding on rugged trails. I was actually stepped on the toe of one of the boots by a horse and I just pushed the horse off with no injury at all. My toes did not feel any pain. I was grateful and amazed. I stepped into a creek to grab a wayward horse, filling my boots up with water. I pulled out the insoles and got the boots dried out completely with a fan overnight. The outside of the boots are scuffed up from the stirrups but in general, they are in good shape and have saved my feet and ankles. I don't know how long these will last but I will be buying another pair when they wear out. ... show more

I have small but wide feet. I ordered a 6.5 when I normally wear between a 5 and 6 because there was not a wide option. So... fit on foot isn't terrible. A little tight on the right foot. The worse part is trying to get my heels into the boots. I can see the potential of the heel area becoming worn and destroyed relatively quick. I don't blame the boots, I blame my feet. Comfort after wearing them a short time seem fine. I can see why some reviews raved on the comfort, if you had normal people feet. If you have trouble with sizes and fits in different brands, expect it with these as well. Otherwise they look great, could be very comfy boots for the right feet, and the quality seems great. I did forget to add that the top of the boots are very loose, so there is not ankle support if you are looking for that. So, we will see if I can break these in or if they will break me. I’ve been wearing boots for decades, and Ariat boots are still the best made, longest, lasting, and most comfortable boots I’ve worn. The boot on the left is my current boot, and the boot on the right is my brand new boot… I was so afraid they would stop making this particular boot, that I bought a new pair, for when my old pair go out to pasture. They are the same boot, but the one on the left has a snake guard on it. They are so comfortable. I have worn them in every kind of leather and my foot has never gotten wet. They have enough of a heel that you can ride in them and they’re comfortable enough to keep on all day long. By this boot with confidence.! I usually wear a 9.5 but get it in a 10 for thick socks in winter. If my socks weren’t so thick, a 9.5 would have been fine. NjOy ... show more

These are good pull on work boots with the classic Ariat design. The upper part is very soft and flimsy. I own a closet full of Ariat boots of various styles and I could always count on their sizing being consistent. Sadly, not so true for these boots. The left shoe is just a bit too big, double socks will help. Right boot fits perfect. Not sure why the size discrepancy. Just looking at the left boot it even looks bigger… size stamp is correct.
