The soul and heal are rubbery which will be good for him in the winter time rather than the slick leather sole. He said that the arch support is beyond what he would expect a pair of cowboy boots to be. I have a pair of Justins in 8.5D, and I read online that Ariat run small (my first Ariat boots), so I ordered a 9. The size 9 is the exact same size as my 8.5 Justins, so I'm glad I got the 9. Didn't take long to break in at all. Great boots!

My husband has two other pairs of Ariat boots and loves them. These are regular width and the same size he always wears. However, they were VERY narrow. We compared the foot beds and these were definitely more narrow than his other ones. Hopefully I can find the same ones on the Ariat page, because I don’t trust buying them from Amazon again. ... show more
