Disclaimer, I'm a Justin Boot man, have been all my life. I was looking for something different, a square toe work boot. After looking at many different boots, I kept going back to the Ariat boots and looking at the reviews. I kept seeing people say that they are comfortable, but warned you to go 1 size smaller because they run large. WOW, I was nervous. I wear a size 13 in every footwear. I ordered these boots in a size 12 wide. I'm so glad I listened to the reviews. Because I received these boots and wore them to work. It was a perfect fit. So if you are planning on buying these boots order them 1 size smaller, but make sure it's wide. I do believe that if I order a regular size 12 the toe would be to tight. I'm a big guy so it made sense to get the 12 wide. The fit was perfect and so comfortable to through out the day. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone. I promise this will not be the last Ariat boots I will buy. Take the chance you will not be disappointed. I will be doing another review based on the longevity of the Boots ... show more

I hesitate on these boots because this particular boot is made in China, but ariat still is the parent company and they don't put out just anything. That said, the pictures don't accurately fit the picture but they are still an attractive boot. These are a great square toe with no steel toe, which is what I wanted, steel toes hurt my toes! Before I purchased I checked with NuShoe to see if they work on these when a resole is needed and they said these are repairable, so that helped me decide to get them as I'd like a pair to keep around for awhile. I normally wear a ten and a half and that's what I ordered. I then noticed my justin boots are a size 10, so if you're used to those, you might need to order a half size larger. So far these are quite comfortable, I hope to see ariat quality and get years of service from these boots. ... show more

Would also recommend as a follow-up to my first review on sizing, i.,e., which was..."trust me if you wear a 12, order an 11." I also ordered an 11W even though I don't have a wide foot and it is a good fit. I think the square-toed style runs a little tight. On color, it's advertised as an antique gray but doesn't look anything like my grandmother ;-D. These boots are a rich dark brown, quality thick leather, and pretty much comfortable right out of the box. ... show more

These boots are comfortable, easy to put on and take off. I can wear them all day and my feet do not get cold or tired. I would buy them again and again.

My husband loves these boots. This is his third pair and he wears them to job sites as well as for comfort in the weekends. Wishes he could wear them every day! When he wears these out, we will definitely be buying another pair.

Many reviews recommend going with a half-size to a full-size down. This is excellent advice. I'm one to take reviews with a grain of salt, so I decided to go with my regular shoe size, which is 12. I ordered a size 12 D, and it was huge. I returned them for a size 11 D, and they fit great. It's a little tough squeezing my feet into them, but once in, they feel great. The antique grey is a very nice and dark color. I'm including a photo of the original Rambler size 12 D, my brown Ariat Roper size 12 E, and my black Ariat Roper size 11 1/2 D for reference. One thing I will say about Ariat, while I find the quality great, the sizing is all over the place. Fortunately, Amazon is great with returns; otherwise, this could have quickly become a disaster. I recommend finding a local boot house to try them on for size before ordering. Otherwise, try a full-size down, which should do it. ... show more
