Best pair of everyday shoes I’ve ever owned. I’m about three months out from wearing these for two years straight, 6-7 days a week. I’ve been known to destroy Red Wings in 6 months. No bueno. But these bad boys . . . son muy bueno! I had one small tear in the inseam but $40 at the local cobbler fixed it. Soles are topest notch of all the possible notches to be notched. If you want a really, really, really good looking pair of boots that can hang anywhere casual or classy, then look no further. These are your jam. You will thank me later and then chuckle that you remembered that I said you’d thank me later. Do it! DO IT NOW! Oh, I normally wear a 10 but got these in 9.5. What are you waiting for. When I was younger, I wore western boots regularly. I always enjoyed wearing them. Recently I’ve had back issues which resulted in lumbar fusion surgery. I need to wear shoes with orthopedic cushioning to help with back stress and foot neuropathy. I’ve also lost flexibility and slip on shoes are helpful. I thought my western boot days were over. Then my daughter told me about Ariat boots. She is in the horse business and they all wear Ariat English riding boots. She told me they make great boots with athletic shoe cushioning. Not like the boots I used to own. My last pair was a good brand, Lucchese. But none ever had orthopedic cushioning. So I saw these low cut boots and figured they would be easy to get on. They are easy to slip into with a shoehorn. But I wonder if traditional height boots wouldn’t be just as easy. The pull tab on the back of the low cuts sometimes catches my jeans leg. Because my back doesn’t bend, it’s hard for me to reach down to pull the pants leg over it. Not a big deal, but I think my next pair will be traditional height. Saved the best for last. The footbeds are outstanding. They are as good or better than many of the athletic style walking shoes I normally wear. So any of you out there who have issues like mine, your boot wearing days may not be over after all. My daughter’s clients range from 6 to 60. She says they all love these boots. ... show more

    • Great Boots with Only One Caveat
Size: 12 Wide Color: Old Earth
Pros: The boots look great and they fit well. I went with a size down from what I usually wear after reading other comments. I also had the benefit of trying them on in a nearby store so I knew to order the wide width so I had more room at the top of my foot. They came a little stiff right out of the box but after wearing them a few times they broke in well. I also added a boot waterproofing to them which made the color darker and it really darkens nicely as they're worn. I think they're versatile enough to wear to many different occasions. I wear mine to work in an office and they don't feel out of place. Cons: The only real con is the insole. It's very thin and got pressed down almost immediately so it didn't provide any barrier to the hard bottom of the boot. I added different insoles and this fixed that issue. Even without the insole change there is a good amount of arch support so if that's something you're concerned with they're good for that. ... show more
